Well...4 months out and still loving my RNY. I can't believe the changes in my life.

1) Down 90 pounds
2) off of blood pressure meds
3) diabetes in remission
4) wearing size 16 pants
5) I can cross my legs
6) I look like a normal person
7) I am no longer the "biggest" person in the room
8) I haven't taken a nap during the day since surgery
9) I have more energy
10) I don't hurt as bad as I used to
11) I can wear all of my jewelry again
12) I do not shop in the women's section
13) My youngest daughter is so thrilled she can put her arms all the way around me now.
14) I feel I have my life back
15) I don't feel like I am 90 years old anymore.

I could go on and on and on. What a difference 90 pounds make. I have about 60 pounds to go and I will be at my goal!

Let's hear everyone's WOW success stories!

wow, you are doing really well!  I am only down 60 pounds in four months and have 50 to go.  Are you working out at a gym?

I walk everyday and have built some muscle. I amy into a size 14 from a 24, so that's cool.

the only down side is hair loss, bummer.

You have done great. Obviously you weren't as heavy as me in the first place and have less to lose. You know the saying....the bigger you are the more you can lose faster. Then it starts slowing down. So, you have lost just as much as me in a different kind of way. You know what I mean.

Thank God I have not lost any hair yet. I don't know if I am just going to lose it later or whether I'm not going to lose it at all. I really hope I don't. I have been religious with my vitamins and with drinking protein supplements. I take in at least 90 grams of protein daily without fail because of my protein shakes.

Congrats to you....I know you feel better too!

Congratulations on your loss so far!

Surgery was 04/29/08 for me. I am down 87 lbs. since surgery and 105 lbs. overall. I am a bit discouraged though. Everyone is talking about the fact that they are down to a 14 or 16 already. But me, I was at a 28 on bottom and a 22/24 on top and now I'm only at a 22 on bottom and probably a 14/16 on top. I wonder if I'm not losing as well as everyone else. Strange, huh???

On a good note, I am having regular periods which means I am ovulating!!! WOO HOO! This is a big deal for me since I had PCOS before surgery (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and didn't ovulate. I can probably have babies when I'm ready! YIPPEE!!!

You have lost a tremendous amount of weight. You are losing as well as everyone else. You may be shaped differently. Like I have really big legs, but I have a totally flat butt (yuck)....so, I lost a lot of fat in my butt and I can wear a size 16. BUT...if I had a nice round booty...I wouldn't be wearing a 16. I have a huge chest, so I can't wear a 14/16 top. So, see we are all proportioned differently. Do not compare with others...focus on your accomplishments because they are wonderful!

I'm so happy to hear about your PCOS improving. I have 2 daughters with PCOS. My oldest is married and even though she was not taking care of herself to improve her situation, she got pregnant anyway. So, there is definitely hope for you. She is due in 2 weeks. She really thought she would never have children and BAM.....she was pregnant. My other daughter says the same thing and I always say...That is what your sister said. I will be a grandmother soon...OMG. WOW.

Anyway, just remember you are doing great and be so very proud of yourself!

I feel I'm losing slowly considered to everyone else.  I'm happy with my results.  I was wearing 24-26 pants and 3-4 x plus shirts.  I'm now wearing size 16 and xl shirt.  It's becoming more challenging.  I can eat sweets and carbs with no issues but have such a hard time with the protein.  I'm at 199 lbs and holding right now.  I've lost approx 63 lbs.

You guys are all doing so well keep up the good work.
