How often are you guys exercising, what are you doing and for how long. I am soo worried to do certain exercises as I don't want a hernia. How long does it take for the internal layers that were stitched take to heal?

I started out walking. Then at my 2 week check up my doctor said I can start more. I have been doing water aerobics for 1 hr. It starts out with a warmup, the some cardio the cool down then stretching. I love doing water aerobics. My doctor said no weight training until about 3 months.

Ive been thinking the same way as you.I think each doctor is different re surgery and what one is allowed to do.My doctor said no swimming for 6 weeks and at that time he would let me know if its ok after he assessed me.

My doc is cautious, too. He's very anti-hernia! lol My advice is to listen to your doctor, but make sure he knows you're feeling ready for more. Listen to me giving advice when I'm only walking... Good luck darlin'.
