April 2008 RNY's
Progress check time! Looking for those of you with April 2008 RNY dates. Thought I would check on your progress but so many of you havent updated your profiles. Come on guys we need to share info and support eachother! I was hoping to compare notes. Hope all is going well. My RNY was 4/16 started at 242 I am down about 17 pounds post op. How are you doing? If your willing to share starting and current numbers I would love to compare notes.
Hi- my surgery was April 17th. I was 275 the day of surgery- yesterday was 258. So that's 17lbs also! Doing well- some things fill me up too quickly I think. I have tried bread 3 times- doesn't agree with me. It's all learning and trial and error. I walked 3.6km with the dog yesterday. Briskly! It's still freezing up here in my neck of the woods! BM's ok, wounds all fine- struggle to get enough protein in daily. No trouble with the liquids. Burp A LOT more than I used to. Arthritis aches and pains less already. Sleep well- no pain. Had Lap RNY. Cheers!
Hi All! I had my surgery on the 23rd and am feeling great! I haven't run into anything that bothers me too much -- and I love that eating less than 1/2 c. at each meal is completely satisfying! Broke a 5-day weight stall this morning, and am down 35 pounds. But even during the stall I wasn't worried because I KNEW that I was eating right, and definitely not consuming enough calories to actually gain weight Anyway, to me the "guilt free" living is the best thing about this surgery -- and not having to get up several times a night for bathroom breaks! Keep up the good work!
I had my surgery 4/29 and as of this morning have lost 15 lbs. I'm using FitDay to track my calories...getting in an average of about 750. I'm not having trouble getting the protein in, but the water is another story. I usually average about 42 oz or so, but I'm trying. I had open surgery, which is still very tender and hurts if I'm up and around too much, so I haven't started walking in earnest yet. I think when I am about 4 weeks out my body will tolerate it a little better. I found my binder from my tummy tuck I had years ago and that has been helping support my incision (which is mostly healed...the steri strips haven't all fallen off yet). Good Luck to everyone!
Hi Kim,
I read your profile and saw where you recommend getting sample packs of syntrax nectar protein. you said you did a google search. i have done that and cannot find any single serving or sample packs. do you have an address i could use to order before my surgery? Thanks and continued good luck. Thank you for the posts.
Had my RNY on April 21st, and did really well in the hospital. I'm struggling with some nausea and need an anti-nausea patch behind my ear to minimize that. I'm getting a little bored with the food, but every time I try something else out (lunch meat, etc.) I get sick. So I'm sticking to the plan and hoping I'll be OK down the road. I miss fresh vegetables! So far I am down 19 pounds post op...with a total of 58 pounds lost since pre-op. Let's stay in touch!
I had lap RNY 4/24. I am feeling great, I lost 30lbs prior to surgery and now I am down 20lbs in 3 weeks since surgery. I started doing water aerobics at the gym this week. The first couple of days it wore me out but as the week went on I am doing better. Took today off and only walked.
Keep up the progress we are in this boat together.
Sharon
Hi Gang, my surgery was April 30th. The day of surgery I weighed 297 and today I am 269 that is a total of 28 lbs. I am so thrilled and today I started back to work. I could have taken a few more weeks but felt ready. I am a bit tired but only another 1.5 hours and the day is over I can go home and take a nap.
