Getting nervous!
My surgery day is TOMORROW! I'm addicted to OH and all the posts I'm reading. My normally super supportive husband is acting like nothing is different. He isn't in favor of me doing this, so his support has been forced at best. I know I must do what's best for me. I think he is nervous, too. Maybe after the surgery he'll come around. In the meantime, I'd love some extra encouragement and GOOD VIBES!! Wish me luck! And good luck to all those who have future dates!

Congratulations and good luck on your surgery tomorrow!I'm sure your hubby is just nervous. This is a risky surgery and he probably doesn't want to let on about his fears.I had my surgery Feb. 07,everything turned out great.I've reached and exceeded my goals as I'm sure you will too. God Bless and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers!.... Inky
It's funny, when I had my VBG in 2000, my now ex was mortified that he was the husband of a bariatric patient....he wasn't supportive at all. My new husband is very supportive but hates hospitals and gets teary just thinking about it. I too am a medical professional and never seem to think anything is a big deal until they are about to wheel me in. I'm sure we'll all get through this fine...and our spouses too. Good Luck tomorrow!.....Kristin
Thank you for your encouraging words. Look at me! I was banded this morning, and I am home already..on the computer. I haven't taken any pain meds yet, but I am dealing with this gas pain. Warm drinks seem to work better than the popcicles. But I have to tell you, I have the best tasting 10 cal sugar free/fat free popcicle in the world! Got them from Sams's--that's what they gave me in the hospital, and I had to have more!
My husband has been absolutely great! He has been at my side all day, and I think it was just nerves. He assured me he was in my corner and plans to stay there!
The hospital was great! everyone was soooo nice. They were very informative to. I plan to attend the support groups to learn as much as I can locally. I was weird being the patient, but it was also a humbling experience.
Thanks again for the help. I gave myself a time limit on the computer, and I'm almost there. I think I'll walk around the house of a few minutes, then get back in bed!
Good luck to all those future Bandsters!!
