My RNY was 4/16. How was your surgery? I Would love to get an update. I just updated my profile with my details but thought I would check on how you were doing. Let me know if you interested in adding me to your friends list so we can share experiences. Kim

My band was done on the 21st and I think I am healing okay. I am not used to being down for any length of time so that is the hardest part. I still have a ton of gas pain which is just really annoying but other than that am ok. I have been walking up and down the street every day my neighbors must think I am crazy. Just started to actually eat some things like jello, protein drinks, broth. I feel like I am keeping it down fine but eat very little. It will take some time to get used to all of this. To think of having a new leash on life is just a blessing and I am thankful. Would love to hear how everyone else is doing. I did have the REalize Band done and wondered if anyone else had done that.

I am scheduled for Monday, April 28th and am just begining to get nervous. Would love to be able to share my experience with someone who has been there. Tell me, how was your recovery? I just bought a business and am thinking I need to get right back to work...

It is Friday and my surgery was on Monday. I FINALLY got out of the house and went to a few garage sales with a friend this morning and two hours later I was wiped out. I haev to say my pain is really just fine. I think it takes some time to get your energy back though. I would recommend easing back into work a few hours at a time if you have any control over that.

Gay, I can identify with your comments about being wiped out, I had surgery on Tuesday and am playing for a wedding today- nothing elaborate, short and sweet. And of course my precious husband will be there. I do hope I get through it without getting too worn out. Playing for church in the morning will be a little more involved, but I think I can, I think I can- with His help I will. Hope you continue to do well. Peace.

Hi Kim, My laparoscopic RNY is April 30th! Cannot wait. Have a few questions, perhaps you can help me. Can you wear a bra post-op in the hospital, does it effect small upper incisions. Did you just wear a hospital gown. Goofy questions but I NEED to know how someone else handled this. I would like to stay in contact with someone in the same basic timeline as me. Many thanks, Andrea

I did not wear a bra post op, just the gown and in fact I have tried to keep a bra off as much as possible for recovery just because it feels very restrictive with the stitches and then I think where they located the port for my band.

Hi Andrea! My lap. RNY surgery is on April 30th too. I'm having mixed feelings now, excited and nervous at the same time. I'm assuming it's normal to feel like this before surgery. What about you? Julie
