After 3 years
It was a good fight! Three long years and Friday I got a call that the decision was overturned and I won. On Monday the surgeon's office called an sched. me for surgery April 30th. I waited so long and now it is all happening so.... fast. I am still in shock. I am happy, scared, excited, worried I think I feel every emotion sometimes every 5 min. I am so excited for everyone here and so looking forward to our journey together.
well I "officially" lost 17.5lbs since 3/27/08 I had actaully lost almost 20lbs during 2 week pre-op diet but I got so many fluids while in hospital that when I came home on Sat. you couldn't tell I'd lost any! :')
But 17 lbs is 17lbs so I'm not going to get too discouraged!!
Just looking forward to tomorrow when I can add veggies, and Peanut Butter to my diet :0)
Wooo hooo! I cannot imagine fighting to have the surgery approved for three years. You must feel amazing right now. Congratulations.
Can I ask why your insurance kept denying you???
I am very blessed that my process was very, very quick. Though I thought about WLS for goodness knows how long, I didn't look into it with any real focus until February of this year. I went to my first RNY information meeting on February 14, had my first appointment with the surgeon on March 5, and had my surgery on April 14. I know that I am very, very lucky.
Here's saying bravo to our journey!
Rebec
Hi Rebec, it was and has been and will continue to be an amazing journey. My ins. here in NV. is Pacificare HMO. It seems that they changed the rules everytime my policy renewed and everytime I was in the eleventh hour. Finally this year I said uh uh! Thank goodness, I am so excited about my surgery next Wed. I am not even afraid. I feel so blessed that I will be able to have great health and a second chance at a normal and completely functional life. Thank goodness. Wishing you the best as well. Have a great day! Gina
