I had my realize band on april 3. felt pretty good in the hospital. Went through horrible gas pains for the next 3 days. On day 3 I threw up, although it was just foamy saliva it hurt terribly and scared the mess out of me. I called my surgeon at home b/c I was so scared. Now at 6 days I still have the constant full feeling, even though I am starving. I am trying to get in the 100 oz of water/day my surgeon wants but I usually only get half. I am so nauseas everyday, light headed, and miserable. Is this normal? I'm scared my band might have slipped when I threw up, has anyone ever experienced a slippage, if so does it feel like this? thanks in advance for your help :-)

My band was done April 2 so I am not an old hand BUT from all the sights I've been checking, this does not sound normal to me. I am working my way from 40 oz of water up to 64 oz. It was very hard to swallow this much liquid and it caused gas. I've found if I have warm liquids it goes down much better. I got some lemon ginger tea by Stach, ginger drops from HiHealth for tea, and use cinnamon sticks for cinnamon tea. These things did help. I, also, use Beano for gas...grind it up and take it with yogurt or applesauce. I just sent in a message with two good recipes you could try. Liquids seemed to cause more gas for me than food. Have you let your Doctor how you are feeling now? If not, do so. Hang in there...Milly J

thanks, I called my office and they reassured me that I was fine as long as I continued to increase my fluid intake. MY mother was worried that my sugar may be low so I added in a 24 oz gatorade and it seemed to help.

thanks guys, I am doing so much better now. What a difference a few days makes. My doc said having back to back surgeries (gallbladder-lapband) just a few weeks apart was why my recovery was a lil bit harder than most. I could've waited a few more weeks for my band but I was ready to get it over with and onto my new life. Not to mention the fact that things at work were being held up for my surgery. I appreciate all the prayers and advice Only battle now is in my head wishing I could just chew something lol I guess that's why they call it bandster hell

I noticed you were from Missouri...I'm from Kansas City and about to get the Lap band on the 28th..wow Monday! What info were you given regarding the Realize band vs the Lap band? My surgeon gave me a choice, but I didn't see any differences except that they have a real neat web site with lots of resources. I'd appreciate you input. Hope all is well for you too!
