Liquid Diet Struggles Anyone?

I start my 2 weeks of a liquid diet on Monday and I'm afraid it will be tough. Any suggestions? Do you just drink the protein shakes? Is juice or coffee OK? Suggestions or words of encouragement?

My husband went to a support group and they mentioned that there is something called New Whey and it is liquid protein it comes in 24 and 48 grams. It's much easier than a protein shake. His doctor also suggested Crystal Light and Gatorade. Good luck, let me know how it goes. My husband is having Gastric Sleeve on the 10th so it would be nice to know how this goes for you.

Thanks for the tip on the bullets. I'm going to check it out. Day 1 and I made it so far. Only 13 more days to go.

I have done 4 protein shakes a day... be sure of course that they do not have many calories. I also enjoy 2-3 snacks a day. - s/f popsicles, f/f/, s/f pudding and jello, light & fit yogurt. It's not so bad.

Thanks for the response. I didn't know yogurt was OK. Sounds good. I feel OK, just a little tired.

what kind of shakes are you drinking ?? i tried those carb solutions and they have such a really awful after taste any suggestions?? i also heard that gnc sells something that you can make that and its a protein shake ??

I am where you are I started on Tuesday and its so so hard I am eating alot of sugar free jello and also skim milk and in the morning I have sugar free oatmeal but hit has to be watered down that will hold me til lunch and I know that I have had some yogurt I hope this helps every nite I say oh I made it through another day and before you know it the surgery day will be here,.... Hang in there

Great ideas, Sue. Are you also having protein shakes? You should be having about four a day, otherwise you could get really weak. What is your surgery date?

I'm starting the liver shrinking diet on Monday as well. I will be having a shake for breakfast and lunch,sensible dinner consisting of chicken breast and vegetable. I was told to limit to 1000 cal. per day. Obviously this is important...but it sucks big time. I'm having coffee with fat free milk...I think that will be ok. Let me know how things go. I might need some support for the next few weeks. Feel free to shout out. Good luck and keep positive. Susan
