105 !!! OMG The high here this week was only 101! I remember those Texas summer days of 117!! You are right, after loosing the weight, the heat is not that bad. I finally started back swerating this year. I stayed so cold last year that i never broke a sweat!
I am hoping to be in the 150's by middle of July!..HOPE! It was such a blessing for me to start loosing again after so long. I am grateful for every single pound i loose girl!!
Hubby had surgery almost 31 years ago and just recently gained back his weight. Has a problem with reflux among other things and in order to fix his stomach problems, he will need a revision. No, the insurance does not pay for it! Luckily for him, he is a Veteran and the VA will out source it to a qualified Dr of our choice. We had to pay cash for mine 2 years ago so, for his to be paid for is a blessing. I will keep you updated but you know how the VA is.... it may take forever!!! All the paperwork is suppose to be ready for the Dr end of July. So far, everything has been on time. Thanks for asking.
I am off to mow...I swear, someone keeps putting Miracle Grow on my lawn when I am a sleep! You would think the heat would kill the grass....
Hope you have a Happy & Safe 4th!!

Wow Lisa, I was kinda late checking in and thought I would be one of the last ones......Where is everyone?
My week has been ok....just ok. The high lite was seeing that grandbaby of mine...he is 9lbs now!
My DH is getting closer and closer to finalizing a revision. Hopefully by the end of the summer. I am still at 162 today. I think these last 12lbs I have lost has really made people notice how much weight I have lost. It is almost embarassing to me sometimes. Anyway, hope everyone will check in today....it's to hot to do anything but shop or swim..hummmm think I will take a swim, easier on the pocketbook and better exercise!

Strangely I have the complete opposite effect when I drink. When I first start to drink it effects me right away... I get a little bubbly in the head. But then it quickly wears off and then nothing. I mean I can drink like 6 beers and it hardly effects me. Of course I don't do that very often.... I try to keep it to only 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine when I drink socially (which isn't very often). I stay away from mixed drinks like daquiris because of the sugar in them.  I kinda wish the bubbly feeling would last a bit longer on only one drink. That would be less calories than having 2 or 3 drinks! lol

Boy you are not kidding on how alcohol affects us now.
I cannot even drink a full marguarita without being silly drunk......lol
Guess that's one good way of making sure we dont drink too much.

Welcome back to some of you. You have been missed and I am sure have some things to add.
My weight is a bit down. I have been making better choices. However, I had a large finals race this weekend and have to admit I really overindulged Saturday night. Not with food-it was tequila! I have been very diligent and have not drank in a 2 1/2 years. Sure is weird how alcohol affects us after surgery.
I am glad that some of us are finding happiness. We need to keep ourselves open to all of life's possibilities.
Status-hanging in there!

I cannot imagine living with tornados . I will take earthquakes anyday. I went threw a hurricane in florida and No Thanks. Earthquakes is nothing u can do but when it does u r thinking wow guess i better duck under something. The last Earthquake I was in was last summer when my Daughter was in ICU after her open heart surgery and the building was on rollars and we just rode it out in the most state of art building made to substand a 8.0 earthquake. I would have no idea how to prepare for a tornado.  The nurse that was our ICU nurse at the time said this was her first earthquake she had every experienced and said u know I grew up with torados and they are alot more scarier than a earthquakeS, I said yeah over and done with in seconds. Lot less annxiety and u can feel them comming on we just stood over my daughters bed to make sure nothing would come down from ceiling on top of her. We just heard the oxygen bottles tip over in utility room next door. I been threw severeal major earthquakes . and nothing was more scarrier than that hurricane that hit near us in florida . Spoken like a true californian I will take the shake rattles and rolls . So glad you are safe so glad wow that was to close for comfort I bet u r thinking,, and with a grandbaby????? yikes...  so so glad u guys are safe..

My body just loves to gain so easy, I have to be on strick diet and watch my carbs and no more soda. I really feel very swollen and puffy this am so I am hoping cranberry juice (diet) will help me flush out the water gain.
