Good to hear you are taking the sub b12 now. I also take a B complex as well. My PCP is really good about monitoring my levels and insists I retest every six months for the rest of my life. Even my surgeon only wants once a year, but I feel better checking more often. Keep up the good work! Inky

Thanks! I've started taking the sub b12 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I don't have to see him for a year which actually kinda worries me. What if my levels don't come up and continue to drop. I looked up what the deficiency could cause, and though I don't know if its related, I've had some emotional/depression issues lately. I guess I'll just have to make sure my PCP checks it when I see her again. But you're right about the stressful part. Untill you mentioned it I really didin't grasp just how stressed i was about this appt. But I was worried about not making the goal he set and I was worried particularly that my blood sugar levels would be back up and the whole diabetes thing would come creeping back in. BUt other than the B12 he said everything was good. So, I jsut gotta take care of that. THanks!! Heather

Great job, Heather. I know that one year appt was stressful for me, getting through it felt good didn't it? Keep taking your vitamins - maybe a sublingual b12? Congrats on your one year success! Inky

Congrats on the good report. My one year wasn't so detailed. He mostly asked how I was and reviewed the blood work. I would really like to find out what my metabolic rate is. Good luck!

I had my one year check up. I'm 7 lbs from my "ideal" weight. My doc was very happy with my loss. He was surprised when i told him i wanted to lose more. I really want to just get to that "ideal". Probably silly but i just WANT to reach that goal. My labs were good. Normal blood sugar and my iron was good. My B12 was on the low side of normal and i got my hand slapped for not doing better with the vitamins on that one. But, all in all, good visit. Hope everyone is doing well 1 year post surgery.

Just wanted you to know that my pulmonologist told me if you have sleep apnea and don't treat it, (use the CPAP machine), you won't lose weight even with WLS because your oxygen levels are too low. I have a slow thyroid and it sounds like you may be dealing with that.
