OK so My son has autism he is high functioning. He is having major issues with behavior. he gets so mad and you can't calm him down till he gets it all out. You can't stop him in mid sentence because he wont hear you or understand utill he finishes. He screams and yell so load he loses his voice. he wont stay seated at school and he thinks out loud. Now if we can get this under control he can be mainstreamed into "reg" class. OK The problem is finding the right meds. He was on concerta and it gave him imaginary friends and he was acting so weird his teacher had me pick him up from school. We tried another and it made him punch himself and hit his sister. So I gave up. Now I want to try this med his teachers son is on that is working real well and he is high functioning as well. I call nicks Dr and he say I have to take him to a psychologist or neurologist because he wont prescribe meds for that. So I call everywhere in st louis for children and no one accepts my insurance which is suppose to be one of the best "cigna" SO I have to take him back to Chicago which is 5 hours away to get him a Dr who will help him well I am waiting for them to call me and let me know. I was in tears I live 10 min from st louis but I have to drive 5 hours to get him help FYI St louis children's hospital is suppose to be like 9th in the country but the neurology department told me they don't deal with autistic kids? what is he a leopard? OK I said it was long I am just really pissed off.
