Downwad Spiral - HELP HELP
I don't know what is wrong with me lately. I am starving all the time. I have done everything the nutitionist has told me to stay off hunger and it isn't helping one bit. I eat then wait a half hour to digest and then eat again. At my highest on my surgery date of 4/30/07 I was 345, at my lowest I was 165. In the past 3 weeks, I am up to 171.
I am freaking out over this weight gain. Does anyone have any suggestions?????

How I wish I had the answers for you. I am also constantly hungry and at times I could eat all day long. Lately, when I want someone to eat, I have been eating roasted edamame and that fills me up. I still have some trouble with my dense proteins and do have to throw it up sometimes. The carbs slide right down. I have added a protein drink every day and even that doesn't fill me up. I also have been eating Healthy Choice soups when I get hungry. Low calorie and filling. I guess the trick is to find low calorie foods to fill up on.Last night I had a salad with slamon, out at a restaurant. I was stuffed after eating half and took the rest home. 2 hours later, I was eating it again.. very disturbing. Chewing gum seems to help me, or sugar free suckers...it seems the oral fixation has come back and I need to squash that. I wish I could be of more help to you.

I've been going through this too and after trying to just force myself not to eat - though to be honest, i do not get any hunger pains like before surgery, i eat from boredom - I realized when I think I am hungry, i am really really thirsty.
Have you tried upping your liquid intake? That helps me curb things too - and if I want something "filling" I try hot sodium free broth or hot tea. hot things seem to fill me up quicker than cold.

I have sort of the opposite problem. I'm never hungry but want to eat all the time anyway out of pure habit or boredom or stress. Are you feeling hunger pangs or is it head hunger. the only thing that i have found that keeps me away from the cheez itz box (my own personal addiction) is reading or keeping constantly busy at least mentally. if i sit down in front of the tv, i need the cheez itz. darn those tasty little cheddar crackers.
over the holidays i gained over 10 pounds and the last few months have been a struggle to lose them and i'm still not there. i'm bouncing back and forth over the same stinking 5 lbs.
best of luck.
