Plastic Surgery Journey

Hi A-Teamers!!

Well  on Feb. 12th my journey with plastic surgery begins.  I  will be having an arm lift on that day.
I started out wanting to get a breast lift and tummy tuck first but, my surgeons office and my  insurance company are trying to work out an approval.  So in the mean time I am going to have my arms done.  I am very nervous but I  have complete faith in the doctor. It's just the after care that worries me.  I  am traveling 250 miles to have this surgery and I will be staying at my son's house for the first week.  My daughter in law is not the best housekeeper and  I worry about infection and not getting enough rest.  So,  I am  taking my own linens, I have to take only button front tops (no over the head tops for a couple of weeks).  I have upped my protein and will take a good supply with me.  My arms are what bother me the most. I have an apron belly but clothes hide is pretty good.  So if insurance doesn't approve additional surgery I will not be able to afford it on my own. I think I can live with the rest of the loose skin.  It certainly is better than weighing 300lbs.  And I am a lot more healthy now.  That was the main reason for having WLS.
Well I just wanted to share.
Take care everyone.

This is such exciting news and Don't give up on pannislectomy for the tummy just besure to document rashes and back pain for 6 mos. Most insurences will turn u down and hoping u will go away. I  hope u r going to a surgeon that really works hard on getting the surgery approved for the TT. If you still not getting anywhere with your insurence they perhaps look at other insurences during open enrollment. What I did and was the best thing i ever did, I am sooooooooooooo excited for you, To me this is where the fun begins with wls the  plastic surgery restoring our beauty and scars of obesity, I love my new tummy

Thanks Lisa,

I appreciate your good thoughts. You are always the one person I can count on to answer my posts.  I have been thinking about your sitiuation a lot and I have been saying some prayers for you.  I personally think that once you get out on your own, you might really enjoy the freedom.
I would love to not have to rush home every night and report to someone every time I go anywhere. Just trying to give you some positive thoughts.

Take Care,

Joni

I had my arms, breast inplants and lift last March.  The arms were the most painful but not too bad actually.  I love my new arms.  It is so nice to wear short sleeve tops and LOOK GOOD!  Good luck.  Just don't over do.  Rest, rest, rest.  My house isn't very clean but I didn't die. lol  Give your daughter in law credit for allowing you to stay with them.

Hugs,
Sharlene
