Welcome back , I was reading your story on your profile and really touched my heart, You are so right your adult children are not suppose to get sick. My 19 year old daughter suffered a stoke in july, It was so serve had no use of her right side she could not even talk or remember her name. was hard seeing a 4,0 college student that had suffered autism her whole life world even crash more. Today she can walk w/o out a cane and only uses a leg brace to walk, and movement in her rt arm is starting to come back, We have no idea if she will get back full use of her arm only time will tell. We were told she will walk w/o a cane by summer well by winter she walked w/o a cane, She left the ucla unable to even transfer to the car seat, We had to lift her to her car seat., We took her to a rehabilitation center and all that was there was senor citizens, I had no idea how hard and the strength u need in being a mom, I see mothers/fathers caring for severely handicapped Adult children.and the courage and strength they have, I had to change her diaper and feed her and I had only had to experience it for a few months see so many adult children that their parents are suddently tossed in to this new role due to car accident, gun shot or brain injury was harder than I could not have imagined doing it the rest of my life.Talk about losing your independece.
I am so glad yo see you and look forward to see at the weekly weigh in on sunday and future posts as well welcome back to fold
