Checking in...

 Hi All - Just wanted to check in and say hi in the new year. At 20 months out, I'm holding strong between 180-185. On my 5'9 frame I think it looks ok. My BMI is just above normal (like 26 point something I think...) I'm in mostly size 8/10 and medium. Some would say that's not good enough, but it exceeds the expectations I had before I had the surgery. I still keep my goal at 160 although that may not be possible without plastics, which I do not intend to have. My skin issues are minimal. Not at all noticeable in clothing. Basically, I'm very happy with my choice to have surgery. I have my bad eating days but try to balance with good days and running, which seems to be working. I don't really stress about food or the scale. I consider myself a normal person and most people would never guess that I had RNY, which is the way I want it. I do have a drink now and then and am just careful because it does affect me much differently than everyone else. I will be running a 15K in March and a half marathon in April. I don't think I want to run a full marathon anymore. I just can't get motivated to do that. My interest seems to die out at mile 13... I am dating. Quite a bit. Some I tell about the surgery, some I don't. I wait for it to come up in the natural flow of conversation. Doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone yet. Well, anyway, that's about it for me. You sure have come along away Jessica.It's hard to believe we are just normal people, I am not going for the victoria secret model look I just going for the normal people. So nice to not have people  take that double look. the pitty look or disquisting look when they saw me walk by.

 Thanks Lisa. I hope you're healing ok. I'll try to make it over here more. Really its my job that keeps me most busy. I didn't even know they'd changed the format of the site until a day or two ago. LOL. Shows how often I have come here lately.. 

Just book mark it jessica on favorites make it so fast comming here to log in , I am healing ok just a slow process but , I glad I had it done but I cannot imagine having a job and getting this done No way can I be working and had this done,I hope to go back to work next summer but we will see.Depends on the stroke recovery of my daughter. Next is boob job I just had so much excess skin everywhere, I have the skin that is really bad for recoiling seems to be trade mark of latin girls lol we may tan well but we do not recoil very well LOL

Oh, Jess.it; is so good to see you. We have missed ytou terribly. So it seems like Ohio is working out well for you. Dating? anyone exciting? I have been dating a guy for the past 9 months. Shar - I'm dating 5 guys right now. LOL... but true :-)  2 are kind of exciting, maybe 3... The other 2 are definitely fizzling out. It's so odd to be on the opposite end of a break-up. I hope I don't come across as arrogant, but I'm now doing the picking which is really weird for me. I am used to taking whatever I could get. Its hard to get used to. And now that I actually have prospects for a serious relationship I am getting restless and not wanting to settle down so I can "see what's out there". Its a really strange change of events. 

I am so happy for you and your relationship though. You truly deserve to be happy! Wish I was still close enough to visit. Lately when I get to Chicago I am there for such a short time I barely get to see my family. Oh well. Life is treating me very good.
