A tribute to my husband!
Today I celebrate my 25th
wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been 25 years and we are
still going
strong. I love my husband even more than the day I met him. It's weird
to think we met when I was only 16 and we had our first baby when I was
only 17.
And here I am now at age 44, with 9 kids later. We have been through it
all... and then some. We joke alot about if we had taken bets on our wedding day on who thought we wouldn't make it we would be rich today! LOL! Yeah, we didn't look to promising to the human eye...and not many people thought we would last. But because Christ has been the foundation of our
marriage that is
why we continue to thrive and God has blessed us with a friendship that
is beyond what I ever could have imagined. I know I can handle anything
that comes our
way... as long as I have a strong, dedicated, loving husband to support
me, lead me and love me along the way. He not only LOVES me but he
cherishes me, honors
me, respects me and is devoted to me. He leads our family spiritually
and is the most amazing father to our children. Honestly, I wonder
sometimes how I ever
could have been so blessed with someone so amazing. The one thing that
I've realized along the way... is that even though we don't have riches
in material
things... we don't drive fancy cars, or wear designer clothes, we don't
have many of the luxuries that other families have. And there are many times
when we
are lucky if we have enough money to put food on the table or
pay our mortgage... Take note of our theme song that we've sang since the beginning of our marriage..it is Danny's Song (Even though we ain't got money I'm so in love with you honey). The chorus fits us perfectly and we are still singing that song.
But what I've learned is what we have is much greater. We have riches
beyond material
things. We are rich in love, friendship, respect and devotion. Those
are things of the heart and they are lasting. More than anything I am
content and blessed
at where I am in my life. I have a wonderful husband, a loving father
to my children and a bestfriend who cherishes & loves me. What more
could I ask for?
I am truly blessed. I love my husband and I'm proud to be his wife! He
treats me like a queen and he is my king! I love you John Sizer!!!!
You know what's funny.... it wasn't too long ago that I was in a real
funk (I'm sure some of you remember). I went through a difficult time
when I
had to face some things from my past that freaked me out and threw me
into a deep depression. But there was my husband as sweet as can be....
loving me,
accepting me and helping me through it all. I felt like complete trash
and when I looked in the mirror I saw nothing but ugliness.... horrific
scars from my
past that plagued my body. I hated what I saw.... and yet John loved me
and saw only beauty within me. It still puzzles me that he can be that
amazing.... but
I won't question it... I will just accept it and move on. If it wasn't
for him and him pointing me towards Christ.... I think I would still be in a funk and it wouldn't be
pretty. I
am truly blessed... and forever grateful for what God has done in my
life and for the greatest gift He has given me... my husband John.
Happy 25th Anniversary to my amazing husband!
