At Home Recovering

Quick note; made it home from surgery today. I have not spoken with the surgeon since he was booked up tight today with many surgeries.
Nurse in recovery told me no hernia repair, I had an appendectomy and liver biopsy instead. Not sure what is happening and anxious to speak with the DR.
Pain meds are doing their job. Throat is sore but I am really doing okay. I will keep all of you posted. Thank you all for your support. It really means a lot to me.

I'm glad you're back at home. Rest and pamper yourelf for a while. Keep us posted.

Wow, I turn my head for a second and you have surgery!!  I'm glad you are home safely and feeling okay.  Get lots of rest, vitamins, water, you know the drill :)

I finally got to talk with my surgeon today. The good news is that my bypass looked fantastic and had no adhesions or any problems. My appendix was red looking so he thought it might have been the source of my pain and went ahead and took it out. He also found a growth on my liver which was removed for biopsy. He said they are mostly benign but we will know for sure next week when results are in.
I have been resting and taking pain pills, so I kind of fade in and out
Anyway, I am healing up. I hope that we have determined what the problem really was and I never have to go through that kind of pain again.

Glad to hear you're home and healing. I hope it was just your appendix and nothing more and you won't have to go through that ever again. That's awesome that your bypass surgery looks so good... nice to know this problem had nothing to do with your bypass surgery. Feel better soon and I will keep you in my prayers that the biopsy comes back benign. Hugs!

You  poor thing, Glad it was not your RNY.I had my appendix ruptured and It played havoic with my insides and removal of intestines and the pain.. So lucky they removed it before it ruptured could have lost alot of intestines and  u think u are under weight now? would be a bean pole if they had to remove alot of intestine. Yikes,, Hope the biopsy is nothing. will keep u in my prayers for a speedy recovery and neg biopsy

Thanks everyone! I am about 10lbs under goal right now and even I say I am too skinny. (NEVER in a million years did I ever think those words would come out of my mouth!!).
Recovery is not to bad. I ice my stomach throughout the day and just working on getting my protein and vitmins in. I have been able to return to a normal diet but notice that I eat less than before.
Good news-My Mom is supposed to get out of the rehab hospital this friday. It has been hard with her being there and me being home in recovery but at least we talk each day. Its been a crazy couple of weeks....

Hi Sharra, sorry I've been out of touch with our board! I am so glad you are home and recovering. How amazing that you are under goal-that is incredible! Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest and fluids. I know you already know that, but sometimes a reminder is good.

I heard that skinny commet at the docs office the other night she told me I was getting way to skinny and i am thinking no way u should see the body nekkid LOL

How is your moms rehab going? she able to walk yet etc?
