Can some of you tell me the answers to some of these questions??? How much did you weigh when you had surgery? How much weight have you lost? any stalls? if so how long and what did you do to start it back up again??? What types of things are you eating now?

Hi Stephanie, Here's my response to your questions: 1. DOS = 282 2. Today = 162 (goal weight 145 since I'm 5' 5'') 3. Stalls = worst stall was Feb/Mar and I think my body had just had enough. However during this stall I went from a 10 to an 8. 4. A staple for me are Lean Cuisine's (usually under 250 calories), 1/2 cup of Honey Nut Cheerios as my evening snack, Green Giant's Broccoli & Cheese Just for One, grapes, unjury protein shakes, Starbuck's Skinny Latte's, and salads. BUT I still enjoy Mexican - when planned. . I've learned that I need to plan ahead every day and eat every 3/4 hours - if I don't I either grab the wrong things or don't feel well. Everyone's pace is different. I used to beat myself up over my pace but it all comes out in the wash if you stay the course. Peace, Susan

hello. Day of surgery around 312 lbs Today around 208 lbs any stalls? Not until 10 months post op. I've gained and lost the same 10 lbs for the last 3 months. What types of things am I eating now? I usually have at least one protein shake a day. For breakfast, usually oatmeal (protein fortified) and a banana. For lunch usually I usually have a little of what my kids are having. Peanut butter, whole wheat, cheese, turkey, left overs from dinner the night before. For dinner, I usually have a little bit of whatever I've made for the family. My favorite snacks are Gensoy soy chips or air popped popcorn with brewers yeast on them. Since I cook for my entire family, I can't cook entirely for RNY. So whatever I make for them I try to include good protein and veggies and complex carbs. Tonight I made home made pizza. I made the crust with whole wheat flour. I had a slice of it. (before surgery I would have had half a pizza) My eating isn't as great as others I'm sure. If I lived alone and only had to cook for myself, that would be easier.. but we are all dealt the hand we have and play it to the best of our abilities. I eat around 1200 to 1400 cals a day and usually 70 grams of protein at least. My weight loss has slowed, but I don't believe it's going to stop forever. I'm glad this isn't a race but a journey. ;) I track my eating on DailyPlate.com every once in a while to help me stay on path. -Shakeira

1.Start of Journey: 282lbs 2.Current Weight: 164-1 pound below goal. I am 5'10" tall. I have been maintaining my weight for a month now. I find I have to eat every 2-3 hrs. I start every day with a protein shake. Then midmorning, I have a non fat-no sugar added yogurt. For lunch I have a lean cuisine or a chinese stir fry with lean meat and veggies sometimes some rice. Midafternoon, I have pistachios or jerky. I might also have a goody like some SF cookies or ice cream sandwich)NF-No Sugar added. Dinner is more lean meat and veggies-I love to make chicken breasts with my favorite frozen veggie mix and then drizzle some olive oil and top with an herb cheese blend. If I want something sweet, I make my own versions of cream pies, cheesecake, etc. I use splenda and never feel deprived when I birthday rolls arounf because I am eating yummy stuff too!! If I am out, I like to get a sammi from Quiznos-just the right size. I have mexican food but order grilled meat=no rice, no beans Maybe a little tortilla. I am looking forward to more fruit coming into season. I also will get pizza once in awhile with a paper thin crust, little to no sauce and toppings like chicken, artichokes, spinach leaves, mushrooms, etc. I eat one piece now instead of the whole thing. Funny thing is, I NEVER ate veggies before surgery. I was meat, potatoes, starch, grease and sugar kind of gal. Now I love a variety of veggies. MY taste buds have come back after being killed by all the crappy food I ate before. I have to try everything. I never know ahead if I will like something. My diet has so much more variety now. Hope this helps...

Hi Stephanie 1. On surgery date I was 309, but I count from my consult date where I was 322, my highest "known" weight. 2. I have lost 123 pounds. 3. In the last 3 months, major stalls lasting 3 weeks or so, then I drop a pound, then i gain it back, rinse and repeat. I haven't been able to get past 199 yet and tried more water, less calories, more calories, more walking (i cannot do other exercise due to tendonitis for the past 4 months). eventually it'll shake off again. I eat a bran cake every morning, sometimes with a couple of slices of fruit. a couple hours later i eat a half cup cottage cheese. lunch is protein based, sometimes with a salad, sometimes it's a lean cuisine or smart one, but not often. dinner is much the same as lunch, protein based, sometimes with a salad. i snack on jerky and string cheese. i basically eat just like i have been the last year, but around 1200 calories a day. 60-70 grams protein.
