Daughter was assulted at college today

I was so shock to get a call from my daughter today that her brief dating of ex boyfriend that tried to strangle her yesterday.. she was calling from the campus police. The police came to our home last night and she is pressing charges. We now will need to get a restraining order. When she became very sick and ended up in ICU from all her Seizures she decided comming home time to say good bye to boyfriend they were only together for a few days at most. she saw him as a problem right from the start but he continued to not take no for the answer started to stalk her, One time said he was gonna commit suicide over this and gave her brother who also attends to the college a note. Our Son turned over the note to campus police they only did a 72 hour hold at a mental hospitial and released him. Police took a report but will not arrest him since no witneess or mark on her body guess they need a dead body to beleive her The Suicide note and threaten to hurt her was not good enough to arrest him .. Taling to the Dean to expell him is not working.. ALL HERE SAY . GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR any ideas anyone? Lisa We need to figure where he lives but since it was a brief relationship we no nothing about him or where he lives grrrrrrrrrrr we only met him once at the hospitial and I did not like him.

Oy, Lisa,,I bet you feel like your life is a soap opera! I feel that way sometimes, too. You can have the courts fnd out his address from the college and get the restraining order. That should help. It is so scary what nuts are out there, hurting our kids. I hope your daughter doesn't have any more problems with this creep. Keep us posted and hang in there, Shar

Seems the abusers have more rights and protection than Victims. Yeah I swear my life is a soap opera sad thing it is not a darn Tv I can turn off. IT's my life. should call it as the lap band turns LOL OR All my weight. or One pound at a time.. sad thing this is the story of my Life no wonder I got to be 295 lbs I was shoving down the pain OF LIFE.. It really makes me angry that it seems the only time the authorities will do anything about an abuser is after the person being abused is either injured so horribly or killed that they have no choice. You might check at a local women's shelter to see if they have any suggestions. I am glad your daughter is pressing charges. I have a young lady friend who was badly abused by her ex-husband who is now advising other abused spouses - I'll send her the link to this and ask her if she has any suggestions for you. Sad thing my daughter is special needs she is autistic and is having hard time with this crazy nut.They only thing the campus police did is on days he does not have class he is not allowed on the campus .. still 3 days of the week to worry about him Lisa

Special needs or not - she doesn't deserve to have this happen to her. I hope that they can do something about him (or to him - something really awful and painful). But I hear what you're saying. Bless her heart. Marcia

Sad thing he is also special needs he has ashburger(SP) syndrome and manic depression and OCD.. Seems he gets more rights no matter what.. We have had a out pouring of support from many members of the school faculity. CAN'T SAY MUCH ABOUT THE DEAN!!! DON'T GET ME STARTED !!!! We are currently working on a restaining order and have a local group that will coach her what to say to the judge to make it happen Lisa
