Well I think I am ready mentally to have my rotar cuff repair done . Will be done arthroscopic and they will place 3 to 4 screws in my shoulder and remove the bone spur. The pain at night keeps me up loss of strength and range of motion is the driving factors to mentally get me ready for surgery.. I will see the doc one more time today for my pre op apt. NO PAIN NO GAIN goes threw my head.. just think a year ago I was getting ready for my gastric Lap band.Being. As a EMT I worry I could lose my lively hood by not being able to use my shoulder fully after surgery and this does worry me as well as swim the butterfly stroke could be lost but I did tell the doc u better know what u r doing.. Worked so hard to become a Emt. I hope to return to work in a few months. Doc said the pain will be pretty bad lots of PTand pain drugs . Ugh so not into pain. I figure next surgery tummy tuck and boob job in the fall, Man I feel like humpty dumpty that fell off the wall BAD EGG I GUESS lol Sucks getting old and I am not even 50 LOL The gym will wait I just hope I will get my driving force back and will my A team push MY sorry butt back to gym fully when I am able please!!!! I do not want to go back to sitting fat dumb and happy (like anyone is really happy being 295 lbs ) mode ever again This is just temp set back and then back to training for a marathon just not sure what kinda marathon TBD after surgery. Ty shar.. It is real scary to have surgery when I have made exercise and physical fitness a big part of my life once again.. I just hope I will want to get on the horse again.. I am not as strong as some people think.. I am not a fan of pain and when I had my pre op apt he told me this is a painful procedure we are gonna shave the bone down and anchor screw and graph the tissue to the bone, he said this is a new way they do it with the best results but the pain is intense. He said u have good health and buff arms and in real good physcial shape to fully recover. I almost laughed when he said good physical shape LOL HE DID NOT SEE ME NEKKID But oh yeah I was looking so cute in size 14 dress and my Phat (PRETTY HOT AND TEMPTING) shoes LOL Lisa

My 80-something year-old mother had the same surgery and got through it fine, so you, being considerably younger, should have no problems. I wish you well. BTW, Mom loves to have surgery because of the drugs - she gets to sleep a lot. So maybe you can look at it that way. You'll be getting some sleep and taking happy meds. And, hey, you'll probably lose weight during the healing process... Regardless, good luck. And I suspect you'll be happy in the long run. Marcia

My choice of drugs for pain r limited due to having a lap band and I vomit so easy on alot of them. Any pill for pain has to be crushed and we were talking pain drugs and well he was worried due to fact the few he has offere me all caused me to puke .. so bad But he was gonna be looking into it. I told him when I had oral surgery darvacet and motrin were not the best pain killers as I recall.. guess I make a bad druggie LOL.. Lisa

Lisa, even thought the recovery isn't fun, at least you'll get this taken care of! You have to look at the big picture-it'll be worth it in the long term. Take care and don't forget to keep us posted on how it goes!

Thanks for the kind words I am gonna spend my time recovering and thinking of marathons I may want to do.. once I am back on my feet.. I still have to have the tummy tuck and hernia repair before doing the marathon. Hard to run with a huge hanging apron I guess I really have taken a real hard look at how bad morbid obesity was ON my body I was oblivious to the damage I did .. I will post asap.. Should be same day surgery. Lisa
