Anyone else got the flu??

Well, I had to go to the dr today because I cant quit coughing and it hurts when I breath. I also have been running a temp since this last weekend. He says I have an upper respiratory infection, put me on an antibiotic and prednisone. I am a bit worried about the prednisone because they say it stimulates the appetite, but I need to breath better.........so what do you do??? This respiratory stuff is bad here where I live, I was just wondering how bad it was elsewhere??? Cindy

The prednisone is only for a short time.you will be fine. Feel better adn have chicken soup

Oh yeah, my boyfriend and I had that flu and it took me 2 weeks to get over it. He's on week 3 and still coughing! It's a bad one-take care and get as much rest and fluids as you can!

The flu had hit really bad in this area.. I actually knew a few people who died from the flu this year .. I know it kills people every year but I never knew anyone who died personally. This year I knew 5 people who died and two were elderly couples who died with in days of each other .. Very sad but hard for the adult children losing both parents with in days .. My daughter caught the flu and she is having problem with her pregnancy she was coughing so much that she has first stage of placentia previa (placentia pulling from the uterine wall) and they can see small pockets of blood behind the placentia but the baby is doing fine so far .. and they hope it will resolve on it's on not much they can do but weight and see she is 22 weeks they put her on prednisone but they had to stop her from getting worse and she is doing better and he cystic fibrois is in check and is getting better .. hang in there feel better Lisa
