"Regular" Shopping
For the first time this weekend I had a revolation that I can no longer shop in The Avenue (which sucks becuase I still have some gift certificates). I couldn't beleive that even their smallest sizes didn't fit. It was a little unnerving. It through me all off.
I was with my sister and she took me into Old Navy into the "regular" section of the store. I felt all out of sorts, but reluctantly I tried stuff on and low and behold, stuff actually fit. I was amazed.
I hadn't shopping in a "regular" store since I was in high school. After the inital shock wore off, it was great!
That is SUCH a great feeling, isn't it?! Old Navy has been great for me as I drop sizes, because their stuff is so cheap and you can find a few good pieces there. I went shopping with a skinny friend this weekend, and it felt great actually being able to go shopping with a friend instead of trudging by myself to LB or Avenue. Woo hoo! Congratulations on crossing over to the "other side"!
It felt really odd to have to shop and not be able to go to my comfort stores like Avenue and Lane Bryant. But then, along the way I realized how much I bought "just because it fit" and I am much more discriminating about clothes again/now. Unless it looks great I don't buy it, because now we have CHOICES!! woohooo!!
And I love Old Navy too - the Sweetheart jeans fit me great (size 12!!) and stuff is so cheap on clearance so it's good while we size surf.
Congrats!! Maybe you can buy shoes with the gift certificates??
