I am really battling depression big time .. I am done with all the meds for depression seems I did not see much difference when I was taking them.. It seems I have NO energy .. I keep hearing people talking about all the extra energy they get from rapid weight loss but to be honest I do not feel it yet I go to exercise and work out 2 hours A DAY 6 days a week and I am done for the day .. I just don't want to do anything .. Anyone have any hints to deal with lack of energy? I have gone to the doc 3 times and says all my labs are great.. so now what???????? I take b 12 shots .. I exercise.. I take my vitamins I just feel I am not eating enough and when I eat more I gain weight.. but I do feel less depressed and more energy when I eat more ..I wonder if lack a protien will make me feel like a limp wash rag? Lisa My first question is who is prescribing your medication for you for depression. I know so many people go to their regular family doc for anti depressants and have the same issues you describe with them not helping. I know I have tried about 16 different anti depressants that actually works for me. I found they all worked a little but nothing actually made the over whelming depression go away. I finally found a good therapist and we discussed the meds I took and we discovered they were all one type of medication and I needed to try a different form of anti depressant. So we started Effexor CR just over year ago and gradually found a working dose and have added another medication to control my horrid mood swings but I know without both medications I would be unable to function. I hope if you are still truely depressed hunny which it sounds like you are I would maybe see if there is a different form of medication that might help. I do find when my energy levels get low my protein needs to be increased and that can help. Some days I have unlimited energy and others i have a hard time just getting out of bed. It took me along time to be comfortable one all the medcations I currently take but I know I am a better person for it.

I have 2 autistic kids and hubby who just had major surgery a week ago so my plate is full with stress.. Not to mention I am in alot of pain due to my shoulder and need surgery for it and kidney stones did not help.. I swear I am getting old BY THE SECOND NOT YEAR and falling apart.. Now if that does not make someone depressed getting old LOL Lisa

How long have you been on the B-12? But anyways sounds like you might need to try a different depression medication. I used to suffer from SAD. and some times we would have to change to different meds, because they did not help, they made things worse, but that is just me. I would go to the dr and tell them that you feel like the meds are not working like they should and see what they say. Yes if you are not getting in enough protein you would feel sluggish. Hang in there and you know I am here for you
