I've had my 1st stall and am kind of freaking out....I've read that it's normal and not to worry...but you know the things that go through the mind...what if I don't lose anymore...etc. Anyone else going through this? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Don't worry, I have gone 2 weeks and not lost a thing. Then I lose a couple of pounds. Increase your protein and fluids and you will lose. Jan

Hi Jen: Looks like you have done exceptionally well! So happy and proud for you. You are lucky this is your first stall! My surgery was 6 days before you and my entire journey has been one stall after another!! HOWEVER. . . I am 127lbs down from 4/10/07 and although weight loss has slowed down - I don't worry about it. I only weigh 1x per week anymore, and 3 of 4 weeks nothing changes. Then I get 'you know what' and the following week I loose about 2-5lbs now. You will loose more - you are doing everything right. It seems like after I stopped worrying, everything just kept coming off in the same amounts as before (when I was worrying). So - there was no point! Follow your program, keep your chin up and the result keep coming! Best Wishes to you Jo Surgery 275 Docs goal 156 Current 148 My goal 146

You're ten months out and this is your FIRST stall?????? Girl, you have no reason to freak. Hang in there. It'll get going again. My word - I had my first stall 6 weeks out. As long as I was following the rules, I'd eventually start losing again. You're doing great. Marcia

Me too!! I've been stalled out for about 2 weeks and it's driving me NUTS!!! This is my second stall, the first being at about 7 weeks. I should be happy with what I have lost. My goal is 125. I keep bouncing between 134 & 128 these past 2 weeks. Our minds tend to always be pessimistic and negative...funny how we can tell others that but not ourselves. I've gone back to tracking (dailyplate.com), measuring everything, and I'm going to step up my exercise. Hope that works!! This is all very frustrating!!!

I try not to look at them as stalls.. but as "body catch up time". Maybe I'm living in the clouds here.. but I need all the encouragement I can get! It has been very normal for me to not loose for 3 to 4 weeks and then drop 4 lbs and go at it again the same way. I try not to keep track and just concentrate on what I'm eating and drinking and my workouts. When I saw my doctor last.. he said that my weight loss isn't what he gages as a success.. because the surgery is doing most of that.. he said that I'm a success if I am getting all my water and protein and vitamins in. What good is weight loss if I am still abusing my body? Hope that helps! Concentrate on how good your body is functioning.. how you can run of stairs.. etc. That is the TRUE sign of success. -Shakeira
