Hi Barbara, The things that help me get the scale moving are: 1. MORE than 64 ounces of water per day 2. Exercise at least 3x a week (get that sweat going!) 3. Tracking all foods on sparkpeople (or fit day or on paper, anywhere, but tracking is a must for me). 4. Getting in my 60 to 70 grams of protein per day (calories around 1000-1200) I know in December I barely did any of that and lost only 3 pounds. In January I managed to lose 4.5 and so far in February I am at 3 pounds. So I know the loss is slower to be sure, but I'd take a pound a month over gaining or not losing. Tell us what your day is like, maybe we can help get you back on track hugs, Inky

well i started out with positive goals 3 4 oz meals and one snack ... nope didnt happen .... i am lost really i no sounds drastic but it is ....i will do my best i do drink crystal light alot no****er its awful .... but i am able to eat all that i want no problem i wish i could of felt that sick feeling when u first have surgery and the no want ... but i was scared of this happening if i had will power or no addiction i would of not needed the surgery i will step the walking up again and get back as much excer... as i was before but with a five year old hard to get going with her laging behind me .... no what i mean ... also this may sound weird but i can walk and walk i do not sweat isnt that strange i dont get out of breath but i did find today i was lacking so much energy for the first time in a long time its just plain old fear setting in .... i lost my husband when my child was 6 mths old i had to make a decision to do this surgery with all the money i had to my name to save mylife ... so here i am screwing it up and no there are no support groups .... not close by around me .. the surgeon is finished with me i went to him on day the next time gave a cashiers check had surgery then seen him three more times that is it ... he is finished ... amazing how quickly it goes with ca****hink i would of been better off with the counseling the diets studies etc....that insurance puts everyone through i do know i am blessed just scared to death

Hang in there Barbara. We will help you as much as possible. It sounds like you need to get more education on success habits after WLS. These are proper nutrition, water intake, exercise, portion control, vitamins. This website will provide education on these matters. I always read the articles they post each month that have good info. Try to be pro-active. Take the reins back into your hands and re-dedicate yourself. First thing, work on getting your protein in. ALWAYS eat it first! Make sure you get your water and vitamins in-I also prefer crystal lite to plain water. DO not drink caffeine as this can stimulate your appetite. Also, serve yourself the proper portions. Once that is gone-get up from the table and walk away. Lastly, get out moving! Exercise is vital and I find it makes me less hungry when I get my exercise in. I hope this helps-this is a constant struggle for all of us. Take care...

Don't give up! It really isn't too late. You've lost 100lbs and you can loose more. You are worth the effort to do this. I agree, you should track everything you eat.. that will help you get control again of the munchie monster. And drink drink drink. I don't allow myself to have breakfast until I drink my 25 oz of water. I drink 25 oz before every meal. That way I'm not thirsty during meals. If I don't drink my water before my meal.. I get soooo thirsty and I end up drinking with my meal.. BIG no no! Also.. remember your vitamins. This isn't just about loosing weight.. but about treating your body in the way it deserves to be treated! Hope this helps! -Shakeira
