Hi, I'm here! I'm a new member. I had Lap-Band surgery on 4/10/07. Looks like you've made terrific progress. How much have you lost since April, 2007?
I've only lost about 25 pounds, but am losing inches and have gone down two sizes since the beginning of 2007. I'm giving away clothing and shoes like crazy---and some of them still have the tags on them!
I'm looking forward to taking part in this message board and getting to know some of you.
Welcome Valerie I am a fellow lap bander 4/18 /07 as well and we have a few of them here on april surgery board..
I have lost 55 lbs since april 1..total 87LBS been a very very slow journey for me but it has been a life altering amazing journey.. at first I hated my band because I felt I was not losing as fast but now I embrace it and figured I made the best decision because it is a teaching tool and even 9 mos out I fight portion control and food choices but having the band adjusted keeps me on track and also takes away the hunger for me i imagined if I did the RNY I would have very well streached my pouch by now and where would I be.. LOL.. I think people people who have RNY gotta be very desciplined and I am not there I need to exercise and exercise and tiny tiny amount of food .. AND HAVE LAP BAND IN PLACE TO TELL ME TO STOP EATING LOL

Glad to meet you Lisa! I have been terrible about exercising, but recently was diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my back and now have to go to physical therapy twice a week. This was a blessing in disguise!! :-D The physical therapist wants me to do aqua aerobics once a week and other strengthening exercises once a week. In addition, I have three pages of exercises to do at home on non-PT days. I've lost 6 pounds since last week! My PT says all of this will probably motivate me to do regular exercises---and it has.:-)
I've been suspiciously absent, I'll admit. The new job has me at work all hours of the night and weekends, and I've been eating everything I see. I didn't post on the Sunday weigh in yet because I wasn't home on sunday and when i weighed in this morning, i had gained 3 lbs. I forced so much protein down tomorrow, I don't think I can do it all over again - I got used to eating carbs, convincing myself that small portions would work. Next thing I knew, I was only eating about 20-30 g protein a day.
Today was a wake-up call. I think my body is ready to even out at 187 and my goal is 155, so I have a ways to go and it's gotten harder.
Anyway, I'm around and glad someone noticed I was gone!

Hey woman! I know whatcha mean! I'm taking three classes right now, including work and two little ones....so posting tends to get put on the back burner. Even though we take so long to respond somethimes, know that we are all here to support each other 100%! Wahoo!
Anyone looking at plastics yet? My apron is toooo old. gotta get rid of it!!! LOL.
