This is a typical day for me....but i do sneak in things i shouldnt eat sometimes too. If my family sits down to watch a movie, i may eat some popcorn.....or while im at the office i sometimes sneak a piece of chocolate from the candy jar, etc.
If im baking the kids cookies, yup...ill steal one. (bad i know!)
Also, i drink coffee with vanilla creamer in it all through the day. I know thats bad, but if i were good at this i would have never needed surgery to begin with!! lol
Just thought id be honest since you were wanting to see where we fall short too
We're not perfect Tami. Please dont be so hard on yourself. The fact that you recognize you're falling off the wagon is what will motivate you to at least keep yourself in check! Good Luck and God Bless
I can't tell you how much your post meant to me! Thank you for your honesty....I appreciate knowing I'm not the only one that cheats here and there, not big major cheats, but I was beating myself up for using vanilla Coffee Mate in my "1/2" cup of coffee I drink each morning. I too eat a few baked chips every now and again and I haven't cut carbs completely out of my diet, I just can't. That doesn't mean I eat them in huge amounts or all the time, but I do have a loaf of double fiber bread that I love having a half sandwich on for dinner sometimes, and I was really being hard on myself for eating it, or the 1/2 cup of Special K with red berries that I occasionally eat on the weekends. Thank you again for your honesty, it meant a lot to me, all of these posts gave me new ideas of what I need to do. I couldn't do this without all of you guys, you keep me sane and help more than you know!
Love to you all!
To be honest, I think I'm the worst one here. I've been struggling with the refined carbs this month and unfortunately found out that I can easily eat a piece of pumpkin bread or a couple of cookies or a donut without getting sick. I've been snacking on that stuff way too much and my weight loss has stopped. Last night I bought some shiritaki noodles (noodles made with tofu) to help me with my carb cravings. I bought some Top Ramen, kept the flavor packets, and threw out the noodles (thanks to Melting Mama for the idea) to use as flavoring on them. I am determined to get to goal weight and have 50 lbs to go! I know that I can now coast along and stay at a size 12, which is good, but I don't want to waste this opportunity. Anyway, here's a typical day for me:
2% lattes, one before breakfast and one after lunch. I am completely addicted to coffee and haven't managed to give it up. No sweetener or sugar in mine-I like the taste plain.
For breakfast, usually half of my lunch. Or sometimes 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and spinach or ham.
For lunch, I usually have homemade lentil/turkey sausage soup or beef stew or something similar. Sometimes a sandwich on whole wheat. About twice or 3x a month I'll get a hard taco from Taco Bell or a McDonald's cheeseburger, or a small Wendys' chili. I can eat a whole taco, or a whole small chili, or about 2/3 of a cheeseburger.
For dinner, a little of whatever I made for the household, such as chicken wraps, stir fry, spaghetti and meatballs, etc.
For snacks, a Gnu Flavor and Fiber bar, or a piece of fruit, or a protein drink if I'm low in protein that day. I log everything on The Daily Plate, which helps. If sweets are in my house, I can't stay away from them. I do not buy them but sometimes my boyfriend or brother will and it's tough.
I decided the same thing yesterday! I am tired of feeling guilty and am ready to go for it again. Maybe it's normal for some of us to have bumps along the way as we test things out? I bought some jeans that don't quite fit to help motivate me. I am dying to wear them so I am going to stick to program!
