Healthy but Yummy Thanksgiving Recipes
Let's share! This very important holiday is coming up and we all want to sample but let's make them healthy enough to not cause problems.
I got a Sugar Free Pumkin Pie Recipe off of www.bariatriceating.com I tried it and it has GREAT flavor but NO SUGAR-YEAH!!!!!
Ready to Bake Pie Crust
3/4 cup of Splenda Granular
1/2 TSP salt
1TSP cinnamon
1/2 TSP ground ginger
1/4 TSP ground cloves
3 large eggs
1-15 oz can Libbys pure Pumpkin-not the pumpkin pie filling.
1-12oz can of Non Fat Evaporated milk
Preheat oven to 325. Mix splenda, salt, cinnamon, ginger & cloves in small bowl. Beat eggs together and blend in with pumpkin and spice mixture. Gradually blend in evaporated milk.
Recipe says this is good for filling two pie shells. I found them to be underfilled so try one and see. Bake pie for 20-25 minutes. Again, I felt it needed a bit more cooking but you can adapt for your oven. Let cool on rack and then chill. Serve with a dollop of Sugar Free whipped topping.
**We have also been adapting our favorite dip recipes to fat free by using FF sour cream. The family has not even noticed the difference! Serve with FF chips and you are in business!
Come on people, anymore great ideas????
