Tofu?

Does anybody cook with tofu here? I don't know why I haven't given this amazing protein food a try but I think I will. And who knew that is comes in so many different flavors? I have never cooked with tofu before so if anybody has any tips or easy recipes they'd like to share I'd be thrilled! It's really high in protein and these days I'm struggling to get my protein intake and I'm getting sick of cottage cheese. Plus this great little food is low in fat and calories as well. I've heard it takes on the flavor of what you are cooking it with and can be mixed in anything. Plus you can eat it raw or cooked. Gonna go shopping for this little dynamo and give it a shot in the kitchen!

I absolutely tofu. i prefer it to all other meats. It saved my protein counts when in the beginning when I hated protein drinks (still do) and couldn't yet tolerate meats. You can do anything to it. Lucky for me, my mom is chinese, so tofu is basically a staple in my life. Thank God too, because it saved me on many occassions in the early days when I couldn't keep much other protein down. Unfortunately, I've always been spoiled by my mom, so she cooked it for me and I have no recipes, but I think I might be able to conjure up one or two. The one thing I will tell you is to keep trying it in different recipes and different densities. Some people love the soft and hate the firm, or vice versa. You can fry it in olive oil and just about any sauce and it will be great. Get the medium firm or firm for frying, soft or medium for soups, and soft for blending w/ shakes. Good luck.
