Tis the season for HOT COCOA - but what's an RNY to do?
Ok, it's literally freezing at my office now (due to RNY and thermostat stuck at 68dg) and not being a coffee drinker, I found a way to make a decent cup of hot cocoa with no sugar!
Here's the recipe:
Hot Chocolate (sugar free)
8oz Ho****er
1 Tbl Cocoa powder (unsweetened) - I like it a little less than a Tbl
2 tsp Splenda granules
2 tsp Non-Dairy Creamer (french vanilla would give it a bit more kick)
36 calories
5.9 g of Carbohydrates
1.1 g of Protein
1.7 g of Fat
Add some peppermint oil for a little more flavor if you'd like that "candycane cocoa" flavor.

I've seen that product as well as the "swiss miss - diet" variety. The swiss miss diet still has about 60 calories, and is kinda expensive per serving. I picked up some bulk splenda and bulk creamer from sam's club, and had a couple of tubs of nestle cocoa around already.
One thing though - does splenda ever make you guys feel funny after having it? I sometimes notice I get a little light headed if I have more than a couple of teaspoons of it in my cereal or cocoa. Not sure why, maybe it's the "sugar alcohols" giving me a little "buzz".
