Hi Amy, I like whole grain wheat chex, but lately haven't been eating it for breakfast because it makes me crave carbs for the rest of the day. Sometimes if I'm really hungry at night I'll have some when I take my iron pill so it doesn't hurt my stomach (I'm on 150 mg twice a day-ouch!). For breakfast lately I like a Trader Joe's fiber cake with a little cream cheese. Or, I'll have a latte first thing in the morning, then have 1/2 of my lunch at 10 am and the other half at 2PM. Sometimes I'll sautee some spinach and peppers and ham and make a big omelette, then portion it out to microwave at work for the next few days, but I sometimes get sick of eggs, too.

yep, eggs are getting pretty boring these days. I haven't tried cereal yet, but before WLS, cereal used to put me right to sleep. Therefore, I dare not try it in the morning! I rarely have time for breakfast, so I end up eating a yogurt and some fruit at my desk at work. Although this morning, I was craving a taco salad,,,wierd eh? of course, I didn't eat the shell..... What about crepes? I wonder how much carb/fat are in those....

I am the same as Dave, cottage cheese. There is no preparation to it and I can eat while I am getting ready for work. I haven't tried cereal yet because I am on the same page as Sharra. Too many carbs for me right now.

Only protein shake for me in the morning...solid food doesn't settle well in the morning and carbs stop all weight loss for me.

Hello. Eggs and I have rarely gotten along since WLS. But I eat protein diet oatmeal by Quaker Oats or Protien added Special K cereal for breakfast. 10 grams in both.. plus the milk.. it's a pretty good start for me. Cottage Cheese Pancakes are like bricks in my pouch.. I've tried making them all sorts of ways too. Sometimes I have Adams peanut butter on a half of an whole wheat english muffin for breakfast.. and a half of an bannana or something. I just figure.. if I have breakfast.. and it's got lots of protein.. then I'm doing good! Hope that helps. -Shakeira

I have been eating Kellogg's Special K protein plus, it has 10g of protein for 3/4 of a cup. I usually cut up a 1/4 of a banana and very little milk with some splenda it is o.k. Roz
