100 lbs down today!

For the past several weeks I have been losing one pound, then bouncing up 2 or 3 more, then taking all week to lose it again. This week I started diligently tracking every bite I eat (thanks, Jessica!) and was surprised to find out that I wasn't getting nearly enough protein. I added a protein shake a day, and kept my calories at about 1200, and suddenly the weight is coming off again. As annoying as it is, I am now resigned to doing this forever if necessary. Today I finally joined the Century Club (94 since surgery)! I realize that my calorie needs are a lot less now that I am so much lighter, and I was managing to eat close to 2000 calories on some days just by eating frequent meals with too much cheese and peanut butter and cookies and crackers. Now the challenge is getting enough protein and fiber while staying within a low calorie range! Thank goodness for the Trader Joe's fiber cakes! And, I promise to take some new pics this weekend-I've totally slacked off on that.

yay!! I am so glad it's on the move for you (and yes, bless those fiber cakes, I am addicted to one each morning and have officially flipped out when I go to TJ's and there aren't any. I keep a package frozen for just in case!!). Tracking is annoying and but I think you're right, it's necessary. Keep up the good work and let's see those pictures!! Inky

Thanks Shrinky! You were the one who had tipped me off about those fiber cakes-what a lifesaver they are! I also keep mine in the freezer and take them out one at a time. They go moldy much faster than I can eat them if I leave them out.

YAY!!! That is great news for you!! It feels good to FINALLY break 100 doesn't it?? I've lost 120 since surgery and I'm in "OMG" mode. I literally feel like I'm dreaming. Does it feel that way for you?? I'm glad you finally figured out what was keeping you stalled out. Congratulations!!! Allie

A whole backstreet boy!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!! You guys will continue to have my support. Yes, I've been having a hard time lately but when I can give the support I will give it. It makes me feel good knowing I'm giving back something to the people that have supported me so much and that have been here for me through thick and thin!!! Allie
