My weight loss has come to a complete standstill, I haven't lost an ounce in over a month and a half probably. My question is this: What are you doing as far as your food goes, are you going low carb, low fat or both? It's kinda hard to eat low carb AND low fat, there really isn't much to eat. If you could post your daily menu's for me to see what you are eating, maybe this would give me some fresh ideas and help me see what I may be doing wrong, thank you!

Also let me add, I do not drink 64 oz of water a day, I just CAN'T! Could this be a reason for the major stalling??

Yes, definitely not having at least 64 ounces can be cause for stalling. Not only that, Tami, you have to have that amount of water at the very least to prevent dehydration, which can cause a lot of problems for your internal organ and body in general. I don't count fats or carbs, but I don't eat any "bad" carbs either, nor do I worry about fat. My surgeon and nut both said to count the calories and protein and choose the right food (no bread, rice, pasta, sugar over 8 grams per serving, fat over 10 grams per serving, protein first), and the rest works out fine. I eat 900 to 1000 calories a day, sometimes about 1100. 75 to 85 grams of protein. 8-10 glasses of water. And my weight loss is slow, even with a 7-10 mile total walking count per week. Now, why can't you drink 64 ounces of water a day? What keeps you from being able to do that? Inky

The reason I can't get my water in, is well, since surgery I can't stand the taste of plain water....at all. Now I do fix this by adding crystal light, but it seems that given the 30 minute before and after a meal rule, and eating three meals a day, coupled with an hour commute each way, I just don't seem to have enough time to get in 64 ounces of water, it just seems I'm always too full to get it in. But obviously if everyone else is not having that problem, then I must be doing something wrong, so I've got to reevaluate my situation and see where I could get in more fluids. Thanks Inky!

Hi Tami, glad to be of help!! Water is so important, do what you can to drink at least those 8 glasses. Two RNY friends of mine cannot tolerate water so they put lemon in it, or even flavored sugar free syrups, because Crystal Light is too sweet for them. Mess around until you find something you like, even decaf iced tea. Have tha****er bottle at your side 24/7. Okay, maybe not while you sleep so put it on the night stand Hugs, Inky

I would definitly do something to get your water in. I hate plain water but have found Water Sensations which flavors the water and has zero calories and I love it. Crystal light tends to have some calories and I'm not allowed to drink my calories. I get a 32 oz bottle and drink it all day at work then fill it up before I go home and drink the next bottle in the evening it helps me keep track. Food wise for breakfast I eat either a half a bagel with peanut butter or fruit. Lunch is usually a frozen dinner of some sort with fruit of carrots for a snack. Then dinner can be just about anything I like turkey loaf (meat loaf with ground turkey and ground beef mixed), goulash with whole wheat noodles, or a simple sandwich. I don't eat big meals so if I cook something it usually lasts several days since it is just me and my two small kids at home. I take the steps at work and do swimming 3 nights a week and work on my feet two nights a week running around a restaurant for exersize. I had a stall for almost 2 months and it has finally broke and now I have dropped from 180 to 169 in the past couple weeks. I stayed around 180 since the begining of August though.

Wow, it's nice to know you had a stall and it broke though. See, I make myself half a sandwich on whole wheat bread and I feel so guilty about it, I would love a half a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter on it for breakfast but I'm so freaked out about breads, and I don't know if it's a healthy obsession or not. I made pesto with whole wheat/flax noodles the other night for my family, and I won't touch the left overs cause I'm "afraid" of the carbs. If and when I do eat a half of a sandwich, I only eat the bottom of the bread, which is a half of a slice....I just don't know if I should be eating bread and or whole wheat pastas, I need to see my nutritionist and ask her. THANK YOU for the suggestions on the water, cause that's been a problem for me as well. Again, thank you for your insight...it helps!

Hi Ladies - I had my surgery on 4/2/07 and still can't eat any bread. If I do I throw it right back up. I don't get my water in either. I'm down 78lbs but it has stalled. I get frustrated not being able to eat what I would like. A simple sandwich would be great. I keep Wendys in business with their chili. lol Hang in there, I'm sure this too will pass.
