Dumping Question....

Do any of you NOT dump? And if we aren't dumping at only 5 months out, does that mean that possibly not enough of our small intestines were not bypassed? I don't dump and I read that someone is having a revision because they never reached goal because not enough small intestines were bypassed, hence why THEY didn't dump? This has me a bit worried!

I don't dump and I'm glad about that. Will I reach goal? We'll see. But I've already made so much progress, it blows my mind! I don't know if there's a link between how much is bypassed and dumping, I was under the impression dumping happens for other reasons (that I don't understand).

I haven't dumped once YET. I don't know if it has anything to do with how much of the intestines were bypassed or if it's just that I seriously don't try to push my luck. I HATE feeling sick and/or nauseous. And I'll do anything & everything to not do so. I try new things VERY carefully. Especially if I've read that others have had a problem with it. Hmmm,,so someone feels they didn't reach goal because not enough small intestines were bypassed? I don't know but it'd be interesting to find out if that's a possible reason why some don't reach goal. Pam T

Here is her post, I tell ya, this really makes me wonder too if this may be the reason some people never reach goal...next time I see my doctor I'm going to ask him, that's for sure! "My pouch is still small, so they are going to bypass more of the small intestine. not enough was done the first time and that is why I never got close to goal and never had the dumping. I wish I would dump this time around..lol..I will get messages saying becareful what you wish for...lol...hubby is telling me the same thing.."

I don't dump but it is not because of intestines it is because my surgeon does not cut the nerve that causes dumping. It is easier to cut through it when you go in but he goes around. I would ask your surgeon if he does that and how much intestines was bypassed. You have the right to know!!! dee
