How many have started to tuck in???

Just curious. I have been buying progressively smaller clothes and some that are more form fitting (hard but necessary to get outside my comfort zone of huge loose clothes). This past weekend I was headed to an event. I tried on some different things and finally tucked my shirt into my jeans and wore a belt. WOW! What a reaction I got. Seems this made me look even thinner and a lot of people (actually an embarassing amount) could not get over how "skinny" I am. I was very flattered (not offended a bit). Funny how some people were afraid to say you've lost a lot of weight. This was a huge ego boost but it also helped me to see myself as I really am-not as my perception has me. So, how are you all doing with getting outside your comfort zone and have you started to "tuck in" yet????

I tucked in last week and it did feel very, very strange. My husband said I need a belt, and I did pick one up at the store (an XL - not even in the plus size dept.) but I didn't buy it. I'll wait til it's a large that I need, lol. Congrats on the tucking - I think it's an important step in understanding how we have changed!! Inky

I am tucking in now that I know I'm going to look good and don't have a stomach any more. Yes, I get compliments and yes, it's a heady feeling. I am flattered as well - how could I not be? I am "the incredible shrinking woman" to my Sunday School class. But I've worked hard to get to this point - working out and obeying the "rules", so I'm basking in it. As long as I don't get the big head, and get back my big body (fear), I figure it's a good thing. I've also just got up the courage to go to Belk and try on size 14s, which wonder of wonders fit! It was tough not turning in to the Fat Lady department which is right by the door and continuing on to the Regular Lady department. My clothes have been a little bit big on me lately, but I knew it was time when the size 18 jacket wrapped around me almost all the way. Interesting question. It has taken as much courage to get out of the overblouse mentality as it has to actually go through the surgery and the aftermath. Marcia Interesting question.

I don't think I ever will tuck! I never have. My lower stomach is so big that maybe after the tummy tuck I can but now I don't like it to show. Funny thing that happened to me. I was at my kids school and a teacher came up to me and said hi wow you look different did you cut your bangs? I laughed and said no I lost 86 pounds. She was amazed but it was really funny. FYI my bangs hang down to my lips LOL

Sharra, that is just so cool! It's true that more fitted clothes make you look thinner. You must be so proud that you can tuck in now! I bet you look amazing! Unfortunately, my weight is in my middle so tucking in isn't going to happen any time soon for me. Congratulations on your fabulousness!

Same here, I tucked last week w/ one of my suits. I've always had a hard time getting that streamlined look though. Unless I have a pair of high waist pants, the shirts still some out at the top sometimes. Feels darn good though!

This past weekend I had to fly for the first time and went to one of our remote sites in bush Alaska. When I went through the airport in Anchorage, I set off the TSA alarm with my BELT BUCKLE... who knew??? And yes, I had tucked my shirt in (thank God) since it held my pants up... However, when I was leaving the bush, I again set off the alarm at the TSA metal detector and when I got through to the other side, had to run outside to the plane with my belt, back pack and jacket in my arms. My size 20 jeans almost hit the ground going up the stairs to the plane. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... I laughed. Isn't this fun!! Its so nice to have these problems. Camai
