No longer "Obese"-I'm now "Overweight"
I never thought this would feel like a big deal but is sure does. My BMI is now under 30. WOW! WOW! WOW!
The compliments I've received have been ego boosters but knowing how much I've lowered my risk for cancer, hearth attack, diabetes, etc is just hitting home right now. To me, the BMI is the real indicator of how much I've done to be healthy and living longer.
Seems weird to be so happy to be "overweight" but I know how much you all can relate.
I had the same reaction when I hit BMI 29.8 I was like wow I'm overweight and happy about it . So strange but it's so much better than being Obese. My goal will put me right at a normal BMI which would be great but being just overweight still has us under what most of the country is now. Since the number of obese people keeps rising.
AWESOME! Looking forward to that milestone, myself. I still have 20 lbs. to go.
It's funny what makes it finally sink in, that hey" I've really accomplished something amazing". For you it was the BMI. For me, it was personal hygiene issues. Whatever it takes to make it sink in... go with it. Enjoy your ephiphany. You've earned it.
