Not looking for sympathy here.... I did something bad today... well at least I feel bad about it. I just want to know other people have tried this, and I'm not the only deviant! I've been craving pizza. Like mad... just a slice, that's all!!! Last night, we got it, and I didn't eat it then... today however, the leftover pizza was staring me in the face. So I blotted the grease, and ate it. The whole slice, minus the crust. And now, I feel horrible! Not because it made me sick, but I feel guilty! It's the first official "bad" thing that i've eaten. Someone else please say they've eaten pizza... so I don't feel so bad. In the meantime, I'm going to go do my workout dvds... all of them lol

Well, since it's confession time, here I go! I had some pizza on my cruise a few days ago. Not a lot (maybe equivalent to 1/2 slice) but I ate the crust and all. Honestly, I think it's a question of quantity. Pizza is still a poor food choice because it's all fat and no nutrition, but so long as you keep it to small portions it's not so horrible. Enjoy the workout!

I'll admit, I had pizza last night too. Probably a little less than a half of a slice, but I felt very guilty about it, even thought I bloted the grease and didn't eat the crust.

When did we all stop being human? Please, what you did was OK. You can not feel guilty for having a slice of pizza. How do you expect to never have the foods you have loved all your life?? The key to the weight loss is MODERATION!! I really get upset when I hear of people who put themselves down for eating something. There was a girl on the main boards a few months ago who was worried about how she was going to pass up a piece of her own wedding cake. How ridiculous is that? We are all normal. And normal people eat things that we might consider "bad" or unhealthy. As long as it is done occasionally, it is oK. If you were eating pizza and crap every day, that's another story. Please, be kind to yourselves. Shar

Shar, Thank-you!!!! Very well said. If any of us could have eatin a perfect diet we would not have had a need for this surgery! This surgery did not suddenly make us perfect people, it gave us a tool to be able to eat in moderation. No food is bad food in my eyes, you just need to use moderation when making your choices. Here is a good example from my life: My Nut told me to add some nuts to my diet to help me up my calories without having to try to eat alot more food. So I bought some cashews. Turns out that cashews are a trigger food for me and I ended up eating them by the handful and could not control myself and then I wanted other things to snack on. So I got the cashews out of my house and went back to my normal diet. If a food is a trigger food don't eat it. If having one piece of pizza will cause you to eat more and more slices or cause you to move on to other foods that you normally wouldn't eat then it may be a trigger food for you and you should not eat it. If pizza is not a trigger food for you then enjoy it. I have had pizza once in a great while with my Nut's blessing. I am down over 85 lbs in 4 months since surgery and this approach works for me. Stop the guilt and enjoy being normal. Thanks again Shar!!!

It was only a bite and that made me happy! 6 months ago I would have eaten my piece and probably part of the baby's piece. Old habits are fading, that doesn't mean we will never want again. Best to you!!

Ok, so you had a piece of pizza! It probably had about 300 calories, and 10g of fat, but only around 12g of protein. If you can fit that in a sensible diet for the rest of the day and not blow away your day's diet - then no big deal in my book. Like the rest of the posts - ALL THINGS IN MODERATION! A piece of pizza is not going to make you gain everything you've lost back. But, if it becomes a regular thing - it can sabotage the progress you've made until now. You had one piece of pizza, how many would you have eaten before surgery? I know if it were me before surgery, I could probably have put away at least 4 pieces then and had one or two more later that night as a snack! I can't even imagine eating that much in a day now! Did it really taste all that good? I had a piece of pizza a month or so ago and it didn't really seem to do all that much for me anymore. I kept thinking, all those carbs and only 10g of protein! Hang in there - keep making healthy choices and don't sweat the small indescretions from time to time.

u know a calorie is a calorie .. and as long as u didn't go over board and eat something that made u sick and hurt u then u r gonna be ok U r having what I call a normal moment and the next day u get back on track and eat right. eating 1 slice of pizza will not make u stop losing or nor gain 80 lbs back but doing that daily and alot more food will and not getting on track will With wls u have to look at adapting new eating habits why I chosed the lap band over RNY because I have a real eating disorder and suffered from bolemia etc .. I needed to learn to eat right and not abuse my body like I have in past. so with lap band it is a tool to train me to eat right slowly.. with RNY i would probally strech out my pouch For my hubby the RNY was perfect for him and with me as much as I sometimes hate to admit it the lap band is perfect for me I need the extra time to tame my tiger.. I am stubborn as a mule but I deny deny deny it LOL Stop beating your self up u r having a nomral person moment,, and confession is good for u.. LOL U r not alone i am sure everyone on april board has cheated some how just they r not talking or want to fess up to it .. Trust me mine was a donut LOL and I payed for it LOL Thanks heaven I hate pizza LOL Lisa

Mary We have all ate something that is from the BAD list...but you know what just like everyone else has said moderation....that is the key....I am sure I have ate more than one thing from the BAD list and I did feel guilty but you know what...It happens...We are only human... IT IS OK.....just remember that....also if you feel bad about it you need to forgive yourself and try not to feel like that later on...

Hi there, don't beat yourself up! I don't know about you, but it's that "all or nothing" mindset that got me to be MO in the first place. Yes, I've had pizza a few times since surgery. I discovered that it has to be thin crust and not have too much cheese or I feel sick, but I honestly don't feel remorse after eating a piece. It's not a regular habit, but just every once in a while. Don't worry about it-in "real life" now and then your friends or family will want to go out for pizza, and it's not a huge deal if you have a little.
