I need some help
Allie,
It is so good to see you back. I hope all stays well with you and we have you back for good. My surgeon said I could take a stool softener to see if that helps with the vagal responses when I have a BM. I sure hope that does the trick. As of this moment, I really feel weird. I feel as if everything is stuck in my diaphragam. I am drinking some warm coffee to see if that helps. Even that is hurting me.
Shar
Susan,
My diet is pretty boring. For breakfast I usually have yogurt with some cheerios, lunch is a hard boiled egg with light mayo on 1 wassa cracker and dinner 2 oz. turkey burger with a bit of a veggie. I try to eat 1-2 pieces of fruit a day. I need to be more conscientious about increasing my fluids. also. The good news is...I just had a BM and did NOT throw up. Maybe there is hope for me, yet!!
I too am having vomiting problems. It occurs a lot and after wards there is always blood. My doc's arent sure what it is, they said it can be a number of things. To narrow it down I am getting a CT of my stomach and a sono of gall blatter on Tuesday and on Wednesday I'm having a 3rd endoscopy.
I already had my first 2 endoscopy's because I had an stricture and they found an ulcer on the new stomach. For a while there I did find myself wondering what the hell did I get myself into. I went into this with a clean bil lof health. I was the healthiest over weight person ever. I had no problems. I've had 2 healthly overweight pregnancies full term with not a single prob. And I have this surgery, which yes is a great thing, but then I have had many probs.
If i was you, ask your doc to get a CT and sono of your insides. Something is making you feel like this. Make them do their jobs and find out what.
Good luck and I hope you feel better.
Tricia
Something similar has happened to me twice. Strong bowel movement, then at the same time lots of saliva quickly followed by vomitting. Both times I knew the upchuck was near and was able to grab something. First time this happened it was right out of bed, vomitting produced only foamy whitish liquid. Second time it was productive, but mostly digested/liquid, light brow color because I had just had 1/2 cup of diet coke in an airplane.
It wasn't particularly violent and didn't hurt either times, and it only lasted a few minutes, but my eyes were bloodshot right after. I have no idea what this is or if it's anything like what you're having. I mentioned it to my surgeon a couple weeks ago and he had no clue either. I have no other issues, and it only happened twice in 4.5 months, so I don't worry about it, but if you're having this often I can see how you'd want to get to the bottom of it.
I wish you the best, keep me posted!
Shar - I haven't had the BM issues, but I did have the violent vomitting issues. Mine turned out to be an ulcer after I had a scope test. The pain was right under the tip of my breastbone...which turned out to be where my new pouch is. The pain felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing me in the chest. Even my back hurt really bad. It had a constant burning sensation too. The area would swell up to the point I couldn't stand to wear a bra...it was so irratating. It would flare up mostly on an empty stomach (early mornings or late afternoons if I had skipped lunch) or even if I did eat, it would flare up about 1/2 later. Once I was diagnosed and got some meds...life is 100% better. Hopefully, you'll get it figured real soon and be on the road to recovery!
Tammy, the pain you described is how I felt all day yesterday. Firstly, I couldn't eat a thing. I felt so heavy in my chest and the it was also right below the breastbone. Pain to the back, too. I was so uncomfortable, I think I have been avoiding a scope because I am such a baby. I'm more afria dto be scoped than I was to have the surgery. Stupid, huh?
Thanks for telling me about this.
Shar - the scope test is a breeze....it takes longer to get checked in and set up than the actually testing. Plus, the dr gave me color copies of the pictures too! Pretty cool, but gross too! He thinks the ulcer could have come from an irratation to the stomach from my staples. I had to laugh when the nurses were prepping me in the scope room...they have you laying on your left side with this plastic mouthguard in that keeps your mouth open doing the procedure. I told them it looked like a scene off of animal planet when a dog was having surgery and if my tongue rolled out during the scope test, to please put it back in!!! LOL....
