I know there have been posts like this before.. but could you guys humor me? I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks now and I'm frustrated a bit. I don't think I'm eating enough and I'm trying to track my calories and they seem to be at 500-600 on a good day. Sometimes less. I'm just not hungry. I have a alarm clock that tells me to take my vitamins and water so I don't forget. My doc wants me to eat 6 meals a day.. I get in 3 at the most. They are not very big either. For dinner last night.. we had stir fry and I ate 4 small pieces of chicken 3 oz at the most and a piece of broccoli. That was a big meal for me and I felt overly full. I really hate eating. Anyone else that way? If I could just take a pill and that would be my meal.. I would be soooooooooooooooooo very happy!! Cooking has never been enjoyable to me.. but it's even worse now. Nothing tastes good it seems. I bought two cookbooks that where suggested here... "Phase 1 and Phase 2 Atkins better home and gardens" I'm hoping they will give me some ideas. I had surgery on the 30th of April. So that would make me around 14 weeks out right? I weighed in at 250 lbs (60 down since surgery) around my 11th week... and the scale is still sitting there and even has the nerve to go up at times as much as 5 lbs! GRRRRRRRR My doc at my 3 month said I was doing fine and he expected me to level out at 200 lbs by my one year post op date. That crushed me a bit. I am 5' 9" and I think 200 lbs is a bit too heavy still. What do you all think? Thanks for listening. -Shakeira

Hey there!! Well -60 since surgery is great!! I had my surgery on April 26th and I'm donw 67 pounds. I too dont think I"m eating enough protien, but what I do eat is: eggs, fish, chicken, soy burgers, I've tried a turkey dog. Any kind of bean, black, refried-fat-free, chick peas, kidney beans, baked beans. Someone told me they lived off of Wendys chili...I've tried it, its not too bad. I just ordered Profect Protien shots, I cant remember the exact, but I think they are like 40 grams of protien in one shot. All you do is mix it in your water otherwise they are very sweet. I have days where I'm not hungry at all, but then i have days that all day I'm hungry. The days that I'm hungry is when I'm eating 6 small meals a day. I was also told to try Stalones pudding at GNC, it has 21 grams of protien in 4 oz, but me personally I cant take it....its wayyyy too sweet for me. I can do about 4 small bites and thats it. The sweetness gets to me. Hope this helps, and keep up the good work. Tricia

It really sounds like you are not getting enough calories or protein in. This causes you body to go into starvation mode and hold onto every pound. You can not eat a lot at a time, so that is why your Dr wants you to eat more frequent small meals. You also should be doing at least one hi-protein shake a day to help get your grams in. Somehow, you need to make yourself eat. Sounds so weird after our previous problem. I know whenever I had trouble geeting my calories or protein in (or both) my weight loss would stop. Best of luck to you..

I also had my surgery on April 30th and weighed 249 pounds the morning of surgery. As of this A.M. I have lost 64 pounds. I stall every 8 pounds or so for a while and then I'll lose 3 to 5 pounds overnight. Once I hit around 200 pounds I stalled for about 2 weeks until I increased my calories and water and started to increase my cardio workout. I'm telling you, everytime I stall I'll do a little extra workout and in the next day or so I've lost 3 pounds. I hope this helped! Morgan

I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I was 323 on 4/23/07 (day of surgery) and I am now I am 265. A mere 56 pounds. However, from my highest all-time weight of 345 in February, it is an 80 pound difference. My doctor told me that I should expect to weigh around 170 when all is said and done. I told him that I was unhappy with that idea because I remember being tormented in school for being a "fat ass" at that weight. I am only 5'4- to be 170 is still in the "fat person" weight range. Like yourself, I am trying to not get discouraged at times. My knees are pretty much destroyed and it makes exercise a pretty difficult experience. I do need to admit that I endulge in carbs almost whenever I can. I suppose I should say goodbye to carbs... I just feel so damn deprived sometimes.

I am with you...eating is hard for me most of the times still. I have to push myself to get in the calories and protein or I do not lose weight. I know it doesn't sound right, but if my calories or protein drop my weight loss halts (yep, the body goes into starvation mode.) So, i have to drink a big protein drink every morning...gives me 40 grams of protein over 1-2 hrs. I also try to take in primarily protein high foods through out the day. For the most part, I cannot take in a whole 3 oz of chicken yet, but I will eat 1-2 oz and maybe 1-2 small bites of brocolli if my stomach feels good and then a few hrs later eat a little more...that is how I get it in. I sometimes drink smart forme hot chocolate at night and that gives me 15 more grams of protein for the day. I usually get in 80 grams of protein a day now (min 60) and usually 600 calories (not high, but I am only 5'2".) Keep trying...it gets easier (I am told!)
