What do you have for lunch?

I am getting really bored with my lunch routine. Everyday I have 2 slices of turkey and a deli slice of colby cheese. I need to add some variety but I am having a hard time thinking of new things to introduce. I don't like heated up leftovers for lunch since I have a leftover night when we are all frantically trying to run out the door for activities. I would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks, Jen

I usually grab a yogurt or cottage cheese. But sometimes I will have a salad with crab meat or shrimp.....Ohhh that is a treat.

Wow, I'm pigging out in comparison to all of you! Here are some of my typical lunches when I'm not eating dinner leftovers: 1 ground beef taco or small taco salad Stir fry with shrimp and no rice Vietnamese salad roll with shrimp cup of soup a slice of meatloaf with gravy meatballs in red sauce tuna salad in a taco shell egg salad Indian food, from the cart down the street. Today I had chicken tikka masala. Yum!

T.V. Dinners. Today I had Amy's Tofu lasagna. 310 calories. 13g protein. I also like Healthy choice Chicken fettucine alfredo and the Meijer brand sliced turkey dinner. Healthy choice makes some pretty good entree's. All around 300 calories. For me, they're about the perfect size. DD

I mixed up some turkey burgers with mushrooms and blue cheese. I froze them individually so I can cook them in a hurry. I also like marinated chicken cooked with red bell pepper, onions, mushrooms and a little skim mozzarella on top. Or I have low fat chili. Or some turkey sausage with a small potatoe. I have made the choice to try and fix healthy. It is not easy. That's why I like to make extra the night before so it is just a mater of re-heating.

Lunchables. It's not very exciting, but it's portable, and I can get 18 grams of protein in by eating the cheese and meat and avoiding the crackers. The little ones are only $1.50 too, so it's light on the wallet. I also take the south beach diet frozen meals and heat in the microwave. they are pretty tasty. Other than that, I do leftovers. Good luck. I get really bored w/ the choices too. Shana

I pack my lunch for work. When I don't have any leftovers, i just throw some prepackaged chicken strips, frozen brocolli and some cheese in a tuperware container. Then, at lunch time, I just throw it in the microwave for 3 min or so. The brocolli comes out pretty tender, and the cheese melts nicely. Other than that, if I don't have time, I just stick w/ a protien shake or bar.

Lunch is really hard for me...I still can only eat a small amount or feel horrible the rest of the day at work...usually have 4 oz yogurt then 1- 2 hrs later have 1 oz cheesestick 2%. Sometimes I will do one or the other and go get a decaf nonfat latte w/ sugar free syrup in it if I need some more fluids for the day but I can only get in either the yogurt or the cheesestick then...not both. I cannot do the lean cusines or south beach frozen meals but once in a while for dinner...I still cannot fini**** either! I tried the fage yogurt today and it was pretty good. I tried the deli turkey and it doesn't sit right still. My lunch is pretty boring but safe.
