need support
If it makes you feel better, I had surgery the day after you and think I am the slowest loser who had RNY on the April board - at 46 pounds lost since surgery . You are doing GREAT, and I'm glad you found us.
I know that I have asked a few people for clothes and have been told, "I'm bigger than you," and I say, "no, you're not. don't be ridiculous." and then they tell me that they are in fact a size or two bigger than I am now and it just doesn't sound right. In my head, there is a picture of a much fatter girl, but when I put on pants in a size 16, I just can't make it all work in my head! I swear they look like they are smaller than me. I actually have to look at people in the windows when we are going places and think, "wow, i guess i AM smaller than her!"
the head-game is a twister that will take longer to lose than the weight!
Stay strong and stay on the april board. They are the best group of people you will ever find for support and encouragement!
I had the lap band, but I know what you are talking about. I was so depressed for the longest time because the scale was showing that I was loosing weight, but I didn't see it or feel it. The trick is to take pics of yourself. A friend of mine on here finally convenced me to take pics of myself at 3 months out, AND I COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE. They are on my website if you want to see. You should really try it. It's only been a month and she is trying to get me to take more again....geesh...the pressure!!!! you know who you are Jessica....lol....anyway, it really does work. If anything it will give you a little boost about yourself. Good luck...you are doing great!
