I have been very dizzy and lightheaded these days. Has anyone else been going through this? I get it when I stand up too fast . Any suggestions before I call the Dr. Dee

I have been told it is very normal when loosing weight very quickly it is your blood pressure stabilizing itself in away. I get it all the time and even fall over sometimes if I get up to fast and don't hold onto something. Some days are better than others but sometimes it is really bad. If I hit a stall for a week or so it will go away then when weight loss resumes it starts all over again.

I was told by my Dr that it can also be due to not getting enough water. I get enough but noticed the last few days when it was really hot that I was having those dizzy, woo woo moments also. Make sure to hold onto something until it passes.

Are you on blood pressure medicine? I had that problem until my doctor took me off of one of the two I was taking. Maybe your BP is bottoming out? (Don't stop taking any meds until you talk to your doctor, though.) Marcia

huh. me, too! i doesn't really bother me, but sometimes I get some funny looks at the gym. no one has said anything. i'm thinking it might be blood sugars stabilizing. I used to have dizzy spells when my diabetes flared. but the last checks i was in the zone...

Could be... an A1C test would show what levels you've been at for the past few months. Since we're early on in our WLS journey, I think it will get better as time goes on. I've had mixed reactions from the other doctors I've seen (outside of my surgeon). I think that the medical community isn't up on the promise and effects of what we are doing... so, if your doc doesn't listen and communicate that he will work with your meds as your body chemistry changes, I'd go see another. Hang in there - but don't go hiking till it passes. I fell down a mountain due to my dizziness when my sugars started raging last year.
