Road Trip to San Diego
Hola All A-Team members!
Dang, I'm gone four days and boy you all get chatty! I have a lot of catching up to do.
My husband and I went down to San Diego Friday morning and came home yesterday. It was a good trip (about 6 hours driving) and nice to see old friends. We both lived in SD for about 10 years and moved from there to the central coast of california two years ago.
We went for a friend's wedding and I was so stressed about food. Our hotel had micro/fridge and served a continental breakfast, so we hit Trader Joe's for a few things and for breakfast each day I had cottage cheese and a couple bites of watermelon, along with coffee (yes, I drink one 8 ounce mug a day, with splenda and half/half, it's my morning treat and Must.Have.Coffee!).
Lunches were safe and I had jerky and soy crisps in my bag at all times in case we got stuck somewhere, along with my new constant companion, Mr. Water Bottle. We're always together now, ya know how it is, lol.
So wedding....well, I am happy to say I enjoyed everything that everyone else had, just with a bite or two. I had two steamed slices of zucchini, a table spoon of mashed taters, the cheese off a half pizza slice, and the inside of some stuffed chicken, along with 3 bites of chicken, and one nibble of cake with frosting. Oh, and a sip of champagne for the toast. It was all delish and delightful, and stayed down!! Followed that up with 2 hours of dancing and it was a GREAT night. Always weird to be the "sober one" but also amusing, lol.
We got home last night and weighed in this morning and I am down 1.5 lbs since Friday morning!! Total loss - 68 pounds!! Better yet, my bmi dropped from 55.3 to 43.6 and I feel GREAT!! Here's my stats since I missed the Sunday weigh-in
Highest 322
Surgery 309
Last week 258.5
This week 254
Loss 4.5 pounds for the week (finally!!)
Total loss 68 freaking pounds (and it's not all hair that's falling out, haha!)
So my first big social encounter since WLS went swimmingly and everyone noticed and we all discussed WLS and it was just great. Whew!!
Ok, off to read what y'all chatted about!!

It's nice to know you won't be deprived of the finer things in life just because you've undewent WLS. Isn't it? We just have to indulge sanely, and in moderation. I'm sure the dancing helped out with the scale also. Get your husband to take you dancing 3 nights a week and you'll never have a weight problem again.

Howw kewl! San Diego isn't that far for me, either... like i could drive out there on a long weekend if I planned it right. Have some friends in Hemet - not so far away. Sure got me thinking about some cooler weather. =0) Glad your excursion was such a delight! Congrats on the control and loss!!! -kg
