back pain
Is the pain in your back, or into your legs, or both? If it's just your low back, then it's probably just some angry muscles, I'd suggest using a moist heat pack and some soft tissue mobilization (IE call in some favors for a really good back rub). If it's into your legs, get to your doctor and see if some Physical Therapy could be ordered - it does the trick for me (even with 3 degenerative discs and one herniated and pressing on the nerve root).
Hope it feels better soon. FYI, make sure you sleep and sit with lumbar support (towel rolled up and put about belt high).
Dee what you are experiencing is siatic nerve pain. Later it might start going down your legs, but I had dealt with that for years and when I got bigger the fat made the nerve padded. But now that the weight is coming off I am starting to get the pains again. It might change after I lose more..we will see. They always say yes to the stomach core supports your back so you might want to bring this to your family doctors attention. See what he/she thinks.
I'm sorry you're having such awful pain! This is probably completely unrelated to what you're experiencing, but I have arthritis (ankylosing spondylitis) and I've been having a horrible flareup for about 3 weeks. It's the worst it's been in years. Each morning I wake up in horrible pain and can barely wal****il I warm up, after half an hour or so. My doc told me that when you lose so much weight so quickly, some people's bodies respond to the "crisis" with inflammation. She assured me that it's temporary and that it'll eventually sort itself out. Since I can't take NSAIDs any more, I'm trying the natural route (Andrew Weill's method), by avoiding wheat and taking fish oil, ginger, and turmeric supplements. I sure hope it works. Good luck with your back pain-I know it's no fun.
When my back gets to hurting, I go see my Chiropractor I have bad discs also so he does not do any twisting. Instant relief. My pelvis had rotated. I only mention needing an adjustment since you said it was deep. It would be real easy for your back to be out of alignment. For me, it doesn't go back in no matter what I do unless I have the Dr out it back in.
Good Luck.
My chiropractor has me switch between heat and ice when it happens to me. Ice for 20 minutes wait an hour then heat and do that for awhile. There are also a few exercises I do to help. I do them all on my bed because it is more comfortable.
Get on your hands and knees and lower your butt to your feet and your nose to the bed. You will probably feel it stretching out and you just hold that position for awhile.
Lay flat on your stomach and then push your upper body up while your lower body is still at rest. Basically arching your back.
Lay flat on your back bring one leg up straight as far as you can. If that doesn't cause to much pain then bend knee and cross it over the other leg to touch the bed with shoulders staying on the bed. Repeat with other leg.
I constantly have low back problems and these exercises tend to stretch me out enough that it doesn't hurt as bad. Everyone can tell you what you might have based on their experiences but if it gets really bad, talk to a doctor. No one can accurately diagnose you over the internet. I have done doctors, chiropractors and physical therapy for mine. Whoever makes me feel better I keep going to My chiro has an aqua massager that I love so I see him most!
I am not a professional and my suggestions are just what make me feel better. If they make you hurt, do not do them
