Gastric Bypass- Public or PRIVATE?

Private for me only my mom, dad and fiance knows. I told my sister I was thinking about having it and she had a fit and started with all the uninformed comments so I later told her about my oop exp. 5000.00 and that I could not afford it so when I had it done, she just thought I was on a business trip. I understand how you feel.... My mom lives in another state that I do. She still lives in the town I grew up in. Its a small town where everyone is in your business. When I was in school I purposely had friends in other towns so I didnt have to be "gossiped" about at school. Anyhow, I didint want anyone in my past to know about this. And my mom was kind enough to tell her hair dresser that I will be in town in Nov and oh by the way I had weight loss surgery. Meanwhile the hair dress grew up in the same town and is 2 years younger than me. So she knows all the ppl that knew or knows me. I just didnt want ppl to think any less of me because I couldnt do it on my own. I needed the surgery. I think most ppl make comments out of ignorance and I personally dont want to hear it or deal with it. I had many ppl tell me before surgery well if you've lost 23 pounds before surgery...why dont you just keep on losing and not have surgery. Meanwhile I was only having 1 meal a day and 2 shakes. As if a person can last a life time on 1 meal a day.
