Hey everyone.... I'm mostly a lurker, but I decided it's about time to post. I usually stick to the PA board. I'm 23, and had my surgery on April 17. So far, I've lost 123 lbs, and I feel absolutely amazing! I work out about 5 days a week in the morning, and if it's a bad day I go twice! There are a few things that I've found I can NOT eat... they make me terribly sick. Eggs, being the main one. I can eat egg whites... but not egg beaters, or even regular eggs. I eat a LOT of sushi..... I don't eat carbs... at all.. It seems no matter how hard I work out, my muscles are getting a tiny bit toned. not a lot like i would like. My skin isn't an issue yet... just my arms drive me crazy. but I'm told the harder I work them, the better it will be. A lot of changes have also happened in my personal life. The surgery after all, is not just physical... as I have found it's also a very very emotional journey. a week before surgery my fiancee and I bought a house together, and moved in. He just was NOT being supportive at all, and was keeping me from my own happiness. no one should be able to do that. Also he's grown very very jealous of the new friends I've acquired. So last week, we seperated, and I moved out. The wedding is cancelled, and all of our deposits that we put down on places, and vendors are gone. We'll never see them again. But it's better than marrying a man who doesn't cope with this huge part of my life. It's for the best. I have a before/semi after pic in my profile... Personality wise? My confidence is totally back. I feel more like myself than I ever have. It's an up and down rollercoaster.... mostly ups though I must say. And I'm taking it all with stride.... it can only get better ;) Nice to meet everyone, and hope I can get to know y'all.

The beauty of youth, I applaud you for doing something at your age .. My son is morbid obease and is autistic and I wish I could get him to see doing it now u will have better results and better out come than someone my age .. CONGRADUALTIONS This is a life alter event .. and sometimes our significant other change right along with us My hubby is RNY and 11 mos post surgery and I can tell u aswell my marriage is on the rocks as well. We been married 27 years and when we both went into this we knew that 90% of gastric by pass patients marriages fail .. We thought we could weather the storm and ride out the tide ..So u r not alone on in what is going on.. but I see u r positive and feel great.. 123 lbs is impressive and congraduations .. keep up the awesome work u can inspire all of us I beleive u r in the lead here for the most amount of weightloss .. awesome .. I am the slowest here by far in the weight loss but .. what keeps me going is my diabetes is gone My blood work is awesome .. all my labs came back in normal limits and I have dropped 2 pants sizes and 3 tops sizes. I am losing inches faster then weight.. which really baffles me ..but then again when i first started to lose weight I didn't lose inches only pounds LOL I am down 53 lbs from my hightest weight and most was purely done on my own but the lap band for me has made me healthy and sent my diabetes bye bye .. and now losing the inches to go with the 53 lbs weight loss. I work out also .. just loss my back boobs woohooooooo LOL well anyway welcome to the april boards Be well Lisa

Holy cow- 123 pounds. Absolutely awesome!! When you have sushi, I am assuming you mean sashimi? Are you having rice on the hand rolls? I am a huge lover of sushi and want to know how it effects you. How much can you have in one sitting? If you don't mind me asking, how long do you work out every day? I want to be right there alongside you at 123 pounds gone! Awesome!!
