a WOW moment
It's the little things that mean so much to me now. The steering wheel is a biggie. I also like the fact that I can walk behind my truck with the garage door closed now. No more seat belt extensions on the airplane. Buying clothes off the rack. It's all good.
Enjoy ALL the little victories on our way to "goal".

That is so cool, Shar! Like Melissa, I had to move my seat in the car forward, too, which is so weird! I just love not worrying about whether I'll fit in a restaurant booth any more-that feels wonderful to me. Oh, and the other day I realized I can cross my legs! I couldn't believe it, and yelled for my boyfriend and brother to see! They were sort of puzzled, but tried to act excited for me, too.
I had the plane seatbelt experience this past weekend. Although I never had to wear and extension, I have been to the point of VERY snug on planes. On the way home to see my family, I had to pull a good 6-8 inches of the belt tighter to fit snug. It was kinda cool.
Congrats on the "moments" everyone.
I can so relate to this one!
My husband and I share our Subaru Outback. My hubby is 5'8" and around 170 lbs. He would often move the seat forward and the steering wheel down so that he could drive it comfortably. I have tried to get into the car with it arranged like that and nearly gotten stuck. How embarrassing!! I used to blame it on my extra inch in height on him... (can we say denial!!) But reality is that I fit just fine in the car without having to adjust anything now! It wasn't that my legs where too long, but that my butt was too big! LOL I never realized how my butt lifted me off the seat so much! It was a wow moment.. all be it humbling too at the same time. I'm so thankful for RNY!!
