Eating out - be very careful!
Man who is this woman on here I don't know her I said to my self before reading. Man INKY......WOWWHOOOOOO.....Anyway Jeff I can not handle fish, chicken or some seafood. So it could have been the fish, the sauce or the seasoning that they put on it when they cooked it....But I would go back again and ask if you really liked the dish.. Maybe they can alter it for you... But again It could have been something KINDA got stuck. Or it tasted good going down and then your stomach said HECK NO....I am going to try fish again tonight so I will let you know.....
I've eaten out a few times but I am very careful to avoid all sauces but then I was never big on sauces before surgery. I can eat chicken if it is cut up really small and marinated in something so it's really juicy. I also found out this weekend that pork works ok and it was so good. But I am afraid to ever try steak again (my favorite) the first time I had 3 bites and was sick for 5 hours. I can tolerate pasta and brown rice but really only have issues with milk and breads. Toast I can handle but not bread. I also agree that fatty foods cause more issues than sweet.
DD - yea I still have one shake for breakfast every day. I've never been one for breakfast, so it's a convenience thing. I take 2 scoops of Dymatize mint chocolate and two teaspoons of fibersure and mix it with 12 oz of water and fill the rest of the way (to 24oz) with ice. I drink it on my hour drive to work. I get 46g of protein, 10g of soluble fiber and it keeps me until noon (about 5 hours later).
Still finding that if I don't get 80-100g of protein in a day, I start to stall.

There are things that set me off too. We don't have some of the same restaurants up here that you do down there but even some things that I have eatten for years set me off and I have to admit that I just go empty my stomach rather than live through the foamies and misery. My best friend has a hard time (6 years post WLS) vomiting but I don't and quite frankly, if I can't walk through the foamies and get my stomach to settle, I go throw up. Its a horrible feeling, those foamies. And I am grateful it doesn't happen often. Most of the time its just when I fail to chew adequately or when I inadvertently eat MSG...what the heck is in that stuff? MSG makes me horribly ill.

maybe it was too dry.. or you ate it too fast? I'm only saying that because the same thing happened to me when I ate Tilapia for the first time recently. I had the same symtoms as well. (only I didn't win the battle and ended up throwing it all up) Mine was coated in artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes and some other things. I made it at home... but I think it might have cooked too long and it got dry.
Just some thoughts!

Probably if anything I ate too fast. I was out with my brother in law and we were talking. I'm finding that if I eat in social settings I've got to make sure to not unconsciously take bite after bite. I do recall feeling full at least once and thinking I should slow down or stop.
I went back there with the group at work today and chose a different entree. Got a shrimp dish - was breaded and fried, but not too bad on fat and carbs - able to eat 5 medium to large sized shrimp with no adverse effects. I passed on the ****tail sauce - usually too much sugar in that stuff (I've checked).
Regardless, I prefer eating at home now - I can be a much better judge of the items in my house. I still cling to lean ground beef and refried beans as my sustinance - though am slowly opening the door to seafoods - they're just so packed with protein and very little carbs.
Thanks for the tips from this post everyone!
