Eating out - be very careful!
Ok, I went out to lunch with my brother in law today. We went to Logan's Steakhouse, and I skillfully navigated the menu to a nice Santa Fe Tilapia filet. I requested no tortilla strips, and asked for the dressing on the side. After eating about 1/3 of the filet (about 3-4oz overall) I was quite full. I took the rest home in a box for later. About 40 minutes later "IT" hit me. In the parking lot of Sam's Club (went in for batteries and kitty litter) I suddenly felt like I was going to revisit my lunch. Through a complete battle of wills between my pouch and I that did not occur. I did however have to sit there in the parking lot very still and deal with the "foamies", burping, and intense flatulence (sorry about that detail). After about 1 hour I was able to gather enough composure to drink a little water and drive home. I've been looking online for the nutritional information for Logan's Steakhouse, but to no avail - must have been something in that sauce that came with it - they called it a cilantro chipotle sauce - who'd have thunk it to have too much sugar? Perhaps it was to much fat, but it really didn't seem greasy (grilled, not fried).
The moral here is - go carefully into the restraunt world A-teamers, it's a battle out there!
Been there, Brother.
Any red meat over a mouthful, still sends me scrambling for the john. I usually get a case of exploding diarrhea a couple of hours after beef- especially hamburger.
However, pasta and rice don't seem to bother me. Potatoes, of any kind, make me nauseous. Bread is OK, if it's toasted and not white.
I'm still learning- but it doesn't stop me from exploring new foods. Even though our digestive systems are altered, the world around us is not. We'll have to learn to eat out eventually.

I know. Most people can eat burger. It just kills me. Chicken is a crap shoot (literally sometimes ) I've been the sickest I've ever been post-op on chicken, and I've ate it and been fine. I basically live on deli- meats, turkey, eggs, cheese, shrimp, salmon, and Tuna.
Everybody seems to be affected differently after surgery. Good luck finding what fits for you.

PS Are you still doing protein shakes?
OMG, Inky, I didn't even recognize you in your new picture. WOWOWOW.
This stuff sure comes on an individuak basis. Ground beef-UGHHHH made me very nauseous. Chicken, eat almost everyday. STEAK, Yummmmmmm. This is an ongoing experiment for all of us.
If something doesn't feel right, I am not afraid to just immediately spit it back out onto my plate (something I never would have done before surgery). My pouch sends me signals and I better obey or else.
