3 month Check up
I had my 3 month check up today (aweek late) and they updated all my info. My scale showed me at 193 this morning but theirs at 2pm was 195 so they have my total loss as 77lbs and my loss since surgery is 63lbs. They were very pleased with everything I am doing. We discussed my issues with taking Iron pills and was told I don't need to take them unless it gets low. We also discussed my issues with chalky calcium which makes me want to vomit and also my lactose intolerance. I have a few things to try with regards to those items . I will let you know how it goes. I am still not allowed to use protein shakes or suppliments at all which sucks. My nut said I only need 40-50g of protein. I thought that seemed low considering what all of you are getting I know I am getting around 40g a day.
Anyways that was my 3 month labs all looked good don't go bac****il October.
I discovered a calcium that is made by Caltrate. It is calcium citrate, and it's chewable caramel cubes. I found it at Kroger next to the Viactin (I think that's the name of the other caramel calcium) where the Flintstones and other vitamins are. I love it! I actually like it better than Viactin - it's softer and easier to chew. I take small bites, it dissolves nicely, it's easy to swallow, it tastes good, and it's got 50% of the RDA for calcium.
It sounds like you are doing well. I had my 3-month and am at about the same place as you - 63 pounds lost, so it sounds like we are on the same track. Congrats on your good checkup and weight loss!

Thanks for the tip on the Calcium Marcia I will have to take a look for it. Do you know how many calories are in it? My nut said they don't want people taking vaictiv because of the calories but I know they have a sugar free one that I am going to try. I have to do something to get my calcium in cause I hate the stuff I have now.
Ok, I looked at the box of calcium chewies. It's Citracal, not Caltrate - sorry. I get them confused. Anyway, it's a soft chewie caramel, 35 calories, 5g of carbs. One provides 50% of the RDA of calcium and vitamin D, so I eat several during the day. Again, it goes down easily, and tastes good. Apparently they also make a chocolate fudge version, but my store didn't have that in stock. (I will look for it, though!) Apparently you can order them through various sites on the Web (Amazon, MSN shopping, other places) if you can't find them in a local store. (The things you learn by Googling!) Also, apparently, if you surf the web you can find these at different prices, so it might pay to shop that way. Anyway, hope this helps.
